I love how Tron isn't such a long film, but once it's finished, it feels like the end of an era. It really feels like completing a long video game after weeks of hard work.
I personally love the graphics in this film. They're much more minimalistic and analog feeling, as well as colorful. Blows my mind how well it turned out given when it was made.
@@ICET100 Actually, they are quite different. YOUR would typically be followed by a possession, emotion, or other noun - it indicates something someone owns or is. YOU'RE is a contraction, and is substituted for "You are". Are we clear, now?
After the success of Tron's efforts there was a free exchange of communication in the I/O towers. Dumont asked programs their user's names. Programs began to respond with names like, "BigRodJohnson28" and "stupidfarts666." Dumont became sad.
Shortly after this...tron finally communicates with his user ‘tron, location query....confirm’ It’s this exact point that Flynn warned Alan not to fall asleep in front of his computer, and that he’d only have a short time in which to speak to his tron program. Tron is a very smart movie.
All that is visible must grow beyond itself and must grow into the world of the invisible...you may pass my friend Barnard Hughes actually 10/10 acting
I wish there was more of this in TRON Legacy - slowing the action down to allow for some character development... talking to to the tower guardian Dumont.
When it comes to their main directive programs in the Tron universe have a hard time improving, when it comes to other things some go above and beyond. Like how in uprising Paige was originally a medical program who helped treat programs with damaged code and she learned to become a skilled fighter, Beck a program who se purpose was building and fixing damaged vehicles like recognizers, light tanks, light cycles pretty much learned to become a competent security program(then again Tron gave him half of his identity disk which changed his color to Tron and maybe some of his system monitor code which he learned like NEO from the Matrix)
Every time you see how beautiful this movie is, it makes Tron Legacy look even more terrible by comparison. This movie gave us a vibrant and creative computer world. Tron Legacy gave us fog and rocks.
@@wj11jam78 There's nothing sleek about mist and a bunch of rocks. And I defy you to look at any shot without context of any of those cyber cities and tell me what you're looking at. It looked awful.
Uprising showed that the Grid was plenty colorful at one point, but it deteriorated rapidly under Clu's "perfection" But if you want VIBRANT? Check out Tron 2.0. Not really canon, not really caring. And wouldn't take too much to file off a couple edges and make it compliant with Legacy canon
Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen Tron Legacy: Dumont's name appears on the garage Sam Flynn lives in. I wonder if that is the garage Dillinger was willing to arrange for his user to be sent back to?
@XDemonRoxasX - It was very difficult to make this movie as the technology to combine live action with computer graphics didn't even exist yet. Computer animation was used in several scenes but any live-action shots were combined with hand-drawn animation. The Light Cycle Chase is an example. Many Disney animators refused to work on this film because they were worried that computers would put them out of business.
They really should’ve had the wall to character being with Alan and Laura when they met Flynn on the helicopter pad at the end. I just never liked how you were really unsure what happened to his character
Saw this movie at school and when it got to this part, all we could think of is "IT'S THE GRAND POO-BAH! Behold his nipple-hands!" and no one stopped laughing...
@AvacadoDesperado then clearly you don't appreciate how long we've waited for this. Tron: Legacy was everything i coulda asked for. can't wait to get Legacy and see all the bonus stuff....provided it's not all on the Blu-Ray copy and not the regular, i'll be soo pissed. Legacy was a race against the clock with Sam trying to save himself and his father. Tron was a battle for freedom...kinda like Star Wars with Tron as Luke taking down the Death Star (the MCP here) with one small hit.
The second screen feature on the TRON Legacy BluRay is COOL! Especially the part that shows all the program file names when Sam is uploading The Grid to his flash drive. . .
Very cool and interesting film. Nice visual effects for that time. Great acting. Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner and Cindy Morgan were impressive. Tron is one of the most underrated & overlooked Sci-Fi films of the 80's (next to They Live, Scanners, The Dead Zone, The Quiet Earth, DeepStar Six, Lifeforce, The Hidden, Masters of the Universe, Leviathan, Millennium, The Philadelphia Experiment, The Deadly Spawn, From Beyond, Alien Contamination and Dune)
@shakenama Isn't that just the epitome of irony? If Disney Animators saw what we have now in 2010, back in 1982, they would have had a heart attack if they saw how the new TRON movie looks. It's just so funny considering that now movies are made on computers, and it's the industry standard. So weird how things have completely changed in almost 30 years.
Actually, that headpiece is based on ancient crowns like the ones in Ancient Egypt and West Africa. . .Which later, popes assimilated into their uniforms. . .
That's because TRON, after being installed in Kevin Flynn's private server in Legacy (TRON 82 took place in a different system), was corrupted and he was slowly dying.
It's more than a game. Mithra will be registered with the Hume call ear. This is to balance out the in some ways severely inferior Galka program, which was merely a prototype as is obvious to everybody.
so no password authentication, no disc check ID confirm. It's no wonder the system sucks, you just let any programs in here and do as they please in your CPU? Dumont....u r obsolete. I like you meet your replacement called "windows firewall" with password protection against unauthorized entry.
