TRON OPENS SOON...ish? 

I put off my next trip to Disneyworld waiting for this thing to open. I also hope it keeps interest in this franchise going for a long time because we need more friggin Tron!

As a Disneyland gal, I have no idea when I'll get over to Florida and ride Tron, but that being said I can't wait for it to open! The Disney community deserves a W

I was 19 and will be 25 when it opens too😂 I’m awaiting an announcement for Cast Member previews but am thinking early March for those. With the attraction opening late March or early April

If the queue for LCR doesn't at least have some version of Daft Punk's End of Line playing in the background I'm going to be enraged. Imagine getting pumped to the soundtrack in the loading dock and then shooting off!

Some of opening team has already been pulled from their current locations so it might not be that far!!

It’s honestly kinda ridiculous how long it’s taken this ride to open. I understand there was a pandemic and some stuff needed to be moved around like the railroad, but it takes 6-7 years to do that? Not to mention the ride looks finished and as if it could open but I guess they want to really make sure it’ll run well, and just have something new to open next year. Regardless I hope the ride is good as it does look fun 👍

Quite frankly, Disney really, really, REALLY needs some positive news.....

So I just went to WDW for the first time ever last week. Epcot (even with the construction) is by far the best theme park in WDW! I really end liked Animal kingdom too. Hollywood studios was cool ONLY BECAUSE of tower of terror (miss that themed ride) but basically they there’s not a lot to do there. I did the whole park in a half day. Magic Kingdom was… I hate to say it…underwhelming. I mean I LOVED riding on the people mover, watching bear jamboree and the Haunted mansion was really cool! I also enjoyed the carousel of progress and the hall of presidents. I think haunted was my favorite part of Magic kingdom though. Those extra scenes on the ride were really cool. Maybe because I’ve been an annual pass holder to Disneyland since 1996, or I was holding WDW too highly in my head, but I do appreciate the Disneyland resort so much more than ever now since going to WDW! Don’t get me wrong I had SO much fun and I would love to go back if given the opportunity again, but I’m good. (I just wish we could have cosmic rewind here omg my new favorite ride!!)

big fan of Tron !! bring on the merch Would love to see the robot's from 1979's The black hole be incorporated some how in the park on a bigger scale than the occasional pin Tron has its day soon ,, i can keep wishing!!

If it doesn't open Memorial Day weekend (the consistent opening of most "spring" opening attractions), I'll be shocked.

I forget how YOUNG you are. I've been watching your vids since maybe a year after you started, and didn't realize how young you were when you started. But to hear you say you were 19/20ish when Tron was announced, just blows my mind.

Thanks for the video! Super looking forward to this. Grew up with the original Tron and adored the sequel. Who hasn't listened to that soundtrack at least a 100 times? Sadly it'll be quite a while before I get back to the parks, but I'm excited for everyone else to go on the coaster this spring.

My friends and I made a prediction in 2021 that it'd be open for the 50th anniversary, so we booked a trip for January 2023 assuming it was a safe bet that it'd be open. It's so demoralizing seeing articles from fan blogs saying things like "TRON is testing! It looks ready!" I can't afford to go to Disney all the time. This is my one trip for 4-5 years, and unless the park reservation system changes, or genie+ gets relaxed, I might not go back at all. I really hope Iger does make some changes for the better

I was at magic Kingdom the day after this was posted and they were doing test runs without people. We were on the people moved and I saw a Tron run empty cars. It's in the final stages!!!!!!

I actually rode Tron Lightcycle Power Run in Shanghai in 2016, two months after park opening, and IT IS AWESOME! (I rode it back to back for over an hour with a group of Chinese enthousiasts. Fun times!) Looking forward to riding it when I visit WDW again at the end of April.

i think april is more likely but current wdw cm rumor is that they’re REALLY trying to get it open before the end of the 50th, with previews in february and an opening date sometime in march. which of course would be fine by me, the sooner tron opens the sooner guardians goes off of virtual queue lol

I actually got to stay at Disney World for the last two weeks with my family and we could see the Tron Light-cycle having some test runs and I can already tell that it’s going to be awesome!

I am guessing some of the key construction people were swapped out before and after pando. That's one or two handoffs of back-up plans, troubles, lessons learned. I am guessing, like other places too, also a lost corporate memory (underappreciated).

I'm sitting here waiting for the railroad to return XD I'm thinking they'll definitely want it open by Memorial Day. Easter is April 9th I believe, so how Easter crowds will affect that I'm not sure. Maybe soft opening that week?

Not a rollercoaster person, so I’ll never ride Tron. However, I’m looking forward to Tron’s addition, to Tomorrowland, and watching people’s anticipation, and excitement, for it. I’ll let everybody else enjoy Tron, I’ll enjoy the atmosphere, the revised shopping, and especially the return of the WDW Railroad.

It's such an incredible night ride. I'm not sure if anything can live up to this many years of hype, especially since it's a very short ride, but I still insist that it's better than Guardians!

Tron being pushed to Spring was such a huge bummer because I'll be there in February 😭

I'm very excited about this ride. I am curious to see if there will be any truth to the theories that Disney will do a long refurbishment of Space Mountain in the off-season after this ride opens.

I don't get the obsession with ride "smells". I just came back from a goodbye-Disney trip to EuroDisney and none of the rides any a particular smell to them. The only ride I ever been to at EuroDisney that has a smell is Small World... And the smell is that of the chlorine from the water treatment...

we'll be there the last week of March and going home on April 2 - I'm guessing it won't be until our next WDW trip (a year later)

How would Disneyland fit the Tron Cycle into its Tomorrowland? How much of its Tomorrowland would have to be torn down?

I wonder why they decided to go with all white? It looks so bland compared to the iridescent blue and translucent canopy of Shanghai's version. It's not like blue is outside of Tomorrowland's color scheme or anything, it's the color of the peoplemover, why not just match that? There's a chance they'll paint it, but that seems highly unlikely since that wasn't the case for Shanghai's.

This Tron ride just saved Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom from being my least favorite Tomorrowland. Disneyland's Tomorrowland is my least favorite because it's not even a land of the future. The Jules Verne theming of Astro Orbiter as well as the Observatron "moving" sculpture doesn't fit in with the futuristic feel of the land. Most of the rides in Tomorrowland are rides with IP that shouldn't even belong in Tomorrowland today. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, the Pizza Planet restaurant, and the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage all have Pixar IP. I wonder where Pixar IP is meant to go. Star Tours, Star Wars Launch Bay, and Hyperspace Mountain all have Star Wars IP. Just a quick trip through the hub, Frontierland or Adventureland, and Critter Country can take you to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, a land at the Disneyland park that contains all of the Star Wars stuff. Disney has completely lost the plot with Tomorrowland where resurrecting dead attractions such as the Peoplemover, Adventure Thru Inner Space, and the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Submarine Voyage from Magic Kingdom are not just welcome, but necessary. Disneyland's Tomorrowland is also in desperate need of a refurbishment. The current Tomorrowland has been around since 1998 and has become more outdated than the other Tomorrowlands. Come to think of it, Disneyland Shanghai's Tomorrowland was a proper Tomorrowland, geeky in that futuristic way with its Jetpack attraction as well as its Tron coaster. In fact, I think the Tron coaster is one of the best attractions in the Disney parks and I am glad it's coming to WDW's Tomorrowland.
