Greetings program. It has been a couple of cycles since I have seen it. Tron is one of the most underrated sci-fi/fantasy films ever. Much to far ahead of it's time and only truly appreciated once we caught up with it in terms of technology and our understanding of it. Always good to meet other Tron fans, especially those who grew up in the 80's. End of Line.
Back when VCR's could record broadcast television, I hurriedly threw in an unlabeled tape to record Tron's first network broadcast. Turned out to be my wedding tape.
While everyone was into Star Wars, as a kid TRON was mine! It had such a unique look and story. It stands as an ambitious and technical visual marvel. For me it really was life changing. It prepared me for the future and helped to make me the artist I am today. Long live the users!
Back when Disney had balls! Saw this at the cinema, although even at the time I didn't really like their films (Shock a kid didn't like cutesy animation and the Love Bug), so this and the Black Hole are the only old Disney movies I'd voluntarily watch today.
@@kascnef Don't think we got that here in Britain, just scratchy and poppy adverts for local takeaways and the variety of soft drinks and snacks from the admissions counter (plus the infamous Pearl & Dean credits which any 70's/80's British cinema visitor will now have stuck in their head.. 🤣)
I loved the arcade game more than the movie and I was pretty good at it. We used to ride our bikes miles away from home to 7-Eleven, eat chili cheese dogs, drink Yoo-hoo and play the game. It was one of the best periods in my young life.
1982 was an excellent and great year for sci-fi films and 1982 was the sci-fi film year of brilliant classics like Blade Runner, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Tron, The Thing, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. I really love Tron and Tron is an absolute favorite film of mine. Tron had very good action sequences, Wendy Carols of A Clockwork Orange and The Shining did a great job with the music score for Tron, and the performances from Jeff Bridges, Cindy Morgan, and David Warner were all excellent. I also love Blade Runner, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Blade Runner by Ridley Scott is one of my all time favorite films, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial was a stellar Spielberg film, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was a great sci-fi film that saved the Star Trek Franchise. Overall, I always loved Tron, Blade Runner, E.T., and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, 1982 was a brilliant sci-fi film year, and Tron along with Blade Runner, E.T., and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan are one of my all time favorite sci-fi films.
I wish Disney would move Tron to the Marvel Universe and let new stories be told. Imagine what a digital Marvel Universe could hold and how it could be tied into the other Multiverses.
