Welcome to the official Laver Cup RU-vid channel. Laver Cup Berlin 2024 runs from September 20-22 at Uber Arena. The tournament takes place for the seventh time and features some of the best players in the world. Björn Borg captains Team Europe, consisting of Carlos Alcaraz, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Flavio Cobolli (alternate) and Jan-Lennard Struff (alternate). John McEnroe captains Team World, consisting of Francisco Cerundolo, Taylor Fritz, Thanasi Kokkinakis, Ben Shelton, Alejandro Tabilo and Frances Tiafoe. Team Europe’s Vice Captain is Thomas Enqvist and Team World’s Vice Captain is Patrick McEnroe. Team World are the reigning champions after winning at Vancouver 2023.

Emotional - I had no idea it was the last Laver Cup for the captain's. Tennis really started for me with Borg vs Mac and I have loved the sport for every day since. These two players with such opposite styles. I was so happy to see them in 2017 to be rivals once more. So sad that that has to end too. Time flies. Lunchtime, doubley so...

Tiafoe is the reason team world lost. He was cocky and casual and thought he was better than himself. He lost both double and single on Sunday. Captain made a mistake to pick him and let him play in final day.

On contrary to how strong team Europe was a how dominant people were expecting them to perform... it was very close and team Europe was one point behind 10-11 before the final match alcarez vs fritz to decide everything.. so all in all a successful tournament i wd say.m sad for Medvedev.... he looked off

What was the reason for having Cobolli and Struff, if they didn't even play?

Alternates in case players get injured. Yes, Dimitrov got injured but the situation was too difficult to get either of them to play, I'm sure they would have played if the score was better but Medvedev insisted to let Sascha and Carlos shine. Hey, at least Cobolli got to eat ice cream many times. :)

Reserve players in case of injury to the main players.

They were reserves, just in case someone couldn't play. In Cobolli's case, I think he was called up to gain experience. Someone see a future champion in him.
