It does specifically say that you need to have a bow that shoots certian speeds to reach out to 100. I only use this sight and i can shoot 100 yards like its 50. Works superb if you have the right equiptment as it specifies.

I spoke to Rep from Bear and Trophy Ridge last year before going from PSE Mach Flight 4R to the Bear Method about what speed is required? I was specifically told bow must do a minimum of 245 fps to correctly function the React One Bow Sight to 100 yards. So you are right about the older slower bows!. It was not designed for them.

Prolly true, but what irritates me a little bit (watch the video at about 1:10). The pins (or indicators) spread out in a preset drop pattern which is what the "smart pin" tech is all about...the sight tricks you and makes it look like you should be able to adjust the gold pointer clear down to the 100yd pin. In fact, the yellow indicator only goes down about 3/4 of the way until it runs out of travel as seen in the video. TR even fakes it in their advertising pics and makes it look like the pointer will adjust to the bottom of the sight, which is not true. Sturgeonstairway If you read the manual it specifically says your bow must be able to produce 245 FPS in order to reach 100 yards with this sight. If the space wasn't available for the pins to travel lower than what the pointer could adjust to the mechanism wouldn't be able to function correctly for low speed bows, and therefore would be unusable on older slower bows. Trophy Ridge designed this sight for modern bows yet still enabled it to work for vintage bows, so it's extremely hard to fault them for anything here.

Still even with a vintage bow, that is one sweet sight. I would use the react 5 on that bow since it appears to be stretching it out at that range. I bet you are dead nuts out to 60.

Try sighting the 20 and 40 yard pins...that should put you closer to center at 80.

If you feel 85 yards is not enough for your OLDER SLOWER BOW then try a 3D Peep Sight. I used to shoot no sights bare bow to 125 yds. And now I have a 3D Peep Sigt to install on my Bear Method just to play w it n see how it does for furtger distance. But again I am not currently using an older bow. And I have two more bows. Used PSE Mach Flight 4R for 25 yeRs at 125 lb draw weight. Im going on 53 yoa n now onlu pull 72 lbs. Remember EVERYONE uses MARKETING to sell. Up to you what to buy.

I just bought one for my 03" Patriot dually. its a bowtech dual cam. it shoots 320 fps. think I'll be OK?

I think your older, slower bow, might Hender you a bit, try sight in at 20 and 40 or so, that might help

Problem is the smart pins are spread apart (downward) as far as they will go. Ended up setting the fine tune to hit just a little high at the 20 which got me reasonably in the kill zone at 80. Just need a faster bow :D
