I had the 2008 blk/red and they fitted tight. Wasn't really comfortable with the strap around it. But I loved the shoe.

That's durabuck (synthetic) not nubuck (organic). Nike is so full of shit and they've tricked peeps into thinking tumbled leather is high quality, but have y'all noticed that high end/designer sneakers don't use tumbled leather? Tanners tumble treat leathers to hide imperfections to make them usable, i.e. tumbled leather is trash leather. This is expensive trash, but as long as you love it.
