Hi I think that longan tree is possibly a “cat’s eye” or Mata Kucing tree. It’s like the cousin of the longan. I can’t see it properly. But mata kucing has a more course skin, and translucent flesh. If it is mata kucing tree, apparently they only fruit after 10 years! We’ve got trees in our backyard in Malaysia and love this fruit 😊

Great property and fruit trees! The difference between pruned and non-pruned Bowen (KP) mango trees is amazing! If its true that lychee needs another pollinator, then you need one more lychee tree :-)

You are correct, Longan originated in China. Pronounce as "Long-an", in Cantonese meant Dragon eyes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longan

Amazing! Can I ask whether you have any problems with fruit fly? I've heard that guavas are meant to be a total fruit fly magnet, for example. Do you net any of your fruit trees?
@vintagefoodfarm
@vintagefoodfarm 7 месяцев назад
Thank you!!! So glad you enjoyed the video🥰 We don't have a problem with fruit fly and I don't know why. Maybe because the chickens and guinea fowl eat any dropped fruit stopping the breeding cycle. Or maybe because we are surrounded by bush so there is a good ecosystem 🤔We do put a net over passionfruit sometimes but that's for cockatoos 😱

@@vintagefoodfarm unlike lychees and some other fruits you put them in the freezer and in my opinion better than fresh, like an ice cream. you don’t have to waste any fruits if u can’t eat them all at once

Hi Debbie and Tim, what a fantastic property with so many fruiting trees. Sounds like you’ll have a lot of guava cooking or preserving on your homestead. Great video guys. Cheers Deb & Dan

Hey! Really love your property and vegetable gardens! can I suggest either moving camera slower when you’re filming or doing less turning it around backwards and forwards all the time? It makes hard/dizzying viewing 😢

Hey Jess 😊I will try and fix that in future videos! Thanks so much for letting me know! I really appreciate the feedback and I am so glad you still liked the video. Have a great day and see how I go with the next one lol 😁Let me know if it is any better next time 😊
