That’s my dream. I hope soon I’d have a tropical food forest of my own. It’d be nice to have neighbors with the same love of tropical fruits to share knowledge and experience with.
That just sounds wonderful, Beth. Seriously though, once I’m there, you’re more then welcome to visit. It probably takes a few years before getting fruits. Not sure where I will end up in GGE but I’ll be there for sure. My real estate agent is working on it. When I watched your videos with all the tropical plants, it just feels like home to me.
@@annthe9237 I'd like that. If you want to make it happen, nothing is impossible. Goodluck on looking for a property in GGE. I will be your first visitor 😀
Wow gooseberry. gustong gusto ko mga tropical fruits pero himdi pwede dito. ang ginagawa namin way back home sa ilocos ay pickle. ibabad lang sa suka w/ salt and sugar after few days pwede ng kainin. masarap❤
Gooseberry are used in Guyana to make fruits for cakes . They removed the seeds, chip it into small pieces, steam it to get rid of the sourness then add new water and sugar to boil into the fruit for the cakes or anything else that requires some sort of fruits ( fruits in Guyana is referred to as the mince meats they say in North America).🙏👍💯🇬🇾
This man is nuts. I have never heard about the fruits in Guyana making cake also that they are called ground minced. This must be when Forbes Burnham came in power. I left Guyana way before that, but my in- laws some of them were still there and my husband used to send them the preserved fruits from overseas.
Awesome I'm dribbling..the Mexican plum...we call it governor plum..and the Cherries are sour cherries And I so want plants but it's hard to find ...let me know if you ever come across plants please
In Trinidad we also call it governor plums and best when eaten half ripened. When very ripe (bright red color with deep yellow flesh) they can sometimes have worms in them, so we mostly ate them just before that ripened stage. The sour cherries we used in pepper sauce
Those plums that you ate in Trinidad we call it governor plums you don't eat those whiles green it's as you found out very sour also the goose cherries well that can really give you a sour kick in the mouth ,when eating it some salt and chillies help it and it taste better.
We call the mexican plums in the Philippines "siniguelas". Yes, i agree, i tried the green one and it was so bitter and sour. My husband loves the gooseberries but too sour for me.
@@bethforce thank so much I'm strongly considering green houses as we have hot summers and very mild winters very rare to see snow here! Like Florida it don't snow there! Lol
Saan banda ng Florida ito? Ano pong address? Gusto ko lahat ng fruits lalo na ang atis.Gaano kalayo from our place Oviedo, Florida. Gusto ko lahat. Thanks!
We counted before and they were 36 mango trees. No, she doesn't sell any plants, she actually keep adding some more fruit trees and go to a Nursery. If you leave in Florida near her house she is gonna sell some mangoes once they are already ripe.
Hello Beth: I live in Canada and my sister-in-law lives in Florida. I am trying to purchase some Guyanese mangoes with the young seed for pickling, gooseberries, jamoon, cherries and whatever fruits you have that can be pickled or stewed. Can you get in touch with me and we can talk about it. Tks.
There is a place in Bookelia where you can buy tropical fruits but im not sure if they have the fruits you would like to purchase. Sure, you can contact me at this number (239)850-8811 or text me first.
