So you mentioned someone who makes the snoods and sells them. I don’t see a link you where to buy or contact info. Did I miss something? Thanks Great video.
Thank you. He's a friend of mine, but he doesn't have a website anymore. I'll reach out to him to see if he's still selling them and the best way to contact him. I'll let you know when I hear back from him.
Can you send me an email at tomytekoutdoors@gmail.com or message me through my social media? I'm on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. My friend said to give you his number, so you can call him directly. I didn't want to post his personal number on here directly.
BassPro usually has them. I don't think they were $50. The bigger heavy duty ones commercial guys use are more expensive. The aluminum handle ones are usually cheaper. If you are in MD Angler's and Bay Country Crabbing Supply has different ones to chose from.
Enjoy your "how to's" Tommy. One suggestion, You can use a piece of wire rather than a crochet hook to pull the bungee through the fuel hose. I use about a 10" piece of wire, bend it double so the bend is about 4" long. Slide bent part (doubled wire) through fuel hose next to bungee. Put longer end of bungee between bent wire. Hold both pieces of wire as you pull bungee back through fuel line. It slides past knots much easier and you don't have to deal with hook getting hung on things.
Thank you for kind words. I appreciate the recommendation. I'll give it a try the next time I make snoods. I end up buying a bunch from Jerry, so I could complete my line.
Thanks bro! I'll start crabbing soon. I'm going to try at BW on my next trip. It looks like they really like minnows base on your trip with 1rod1reel 😜
I made another video showing how to do that. Here's a link to the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y26mJsnzN9A.html. Thanks for watching.
Just found your channel today. Do you think these could work for crabbing with a hand line? I’ve been thinking of making a more permanent solution to going crabbing without having to buy twine or string all the time. Great video.
You could put snoods on a hand line. If you used thicker line, it would be easier to use over and over again. There is a hand line method I plan to try this year from a kayak. I'll share that soon. The season is almost open. Thanks for watching.
I'm glad you find them helpful. I was lucky to meet some good friends to help me early on. I'm still waiting to go on my first crabbing trip. The weather does seems to finally be more stable. I hope to get out soon. Thanks for watching.
My favorite way to cook them is steaming them. I'll share some other recipes now that the season is starting to heat up. Here's a video where I show you how to cook a bushel of crabs ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o-tntnmQ0Gw.html. I'm planning to redo this video when I catch my first bushel this season. Thanks for watching.
If you’re going to make a bunch of these at once, you’re better off just lighting a candle rather than using the lighter. Light the candle once and you can use the candle flame to seal the ends. Treat yourself to a fragrant candle and snood manufacture in style. Lol
LOL! That is a great idea. Wish I would have known that when I made my line. You can mask the scent of burnt rubber with a scent of berries 😂 If I'm going to build another line, I just buy snoods from a friend that makes the ez-snoods. I don't much time now that I have kids. Thanks for watching.
I made these for all of my newer lines. My friend still sells them, so I think I'm just going to buy the rest from him for a line I've been trying to finish for a while. There's also a way to make the simple snoods into improved snoods. You can try that for a few of your existing snoods and see if it makes a difference for you. It was a big difference for me. I'll make a video showing how to convert an old snood soon.
Buddy I appreciate the tutorial but some advice. Stop all the back and forth. Just explain all at once start to finish without all the jumping around. This video could of been 3 mins if you had just planned it out a little bit and had a clear start and finish
I appreciate the constructive criticism. You can't please everyone. Some people like detailed videos and some don't. I'm going make this video again and keep your comment in mind. I'm always looking to improve. It's not that easy to make content.
You can skip through the video or find another one to watch. This is free content you are getting. I learned this years ago by physically going to crabbing seminars that was hours away to see how it was done. This was before RU-vid or any social media existed. All you have to do is search and get free content at your finger tips whenever you want. If you don't like the content move on to the next.
