Trouba, Zibanejad, Kreider, Fox & Coach Laviolette on Game 6 loss to Panthers | New York Rangers 

Nobody wanted to play except for Igor, Laffy, Troch and Goody. But Igor.... Oooooooh boy, they are wasting another talent. They wasted Hank, now they are wasting Igor.

Tne rangers dominated every other team. Panthers are super deep and have a great playoff style. The Panthers simply beat the rangers.

Krieder, Panarin and Zibanejad where invisible. And Laviolette waited to late in this series to shake things up. Mike Keenan benched BRIAN LEETCH in the Easter Final in '94 for a few shifts to send a message. And these guys I mentioned above are by no means the caliber of Brian Leetch!

Trochek and Igor played their hearts out .

Laviolette must have watched a different game. Florida had so many chances that could’ve been 2 or 3 or 4. Can’t find any chance that gives the rangers 1 2 or 3. You can’t forecheck with one player. You forecheck as a team and you don’t let the other team play. The goal isn’t to win, it should be to win and dominate. This team hoped they won and never wanted to dominate and shut them down. Mental difference.

It was a remarkable season and run. Laff is finally a star. This team has great camaraderie. Overcame adversity and injuries all season. The team has a tremendous foundation. We’ll need to make some moves but we will be back. Till next year boys

Panthers were just a better team

I’m no coach. Just a fan that watched every game this year. We are our best when we throw shots on Net with Kreider in front of the goalie hitting tip ins. How come it didn’t look like they even tried to get 1 tip in the last 3 games?

I dont understand, as a coach, when your PP unit completely shuts down, how do you not make changes early in the series to see if something else might work. Should have dropped Panarin to the 2nd unit and move Laffy up. Even on your regular lines, start switching up guys when your regular lines are not producing, sometimes thats all it takes, you cant be afraid to do that in the playoffs.

Drury got two good players at the trade deadline. The problem is they are not very big and physical so they were easy to control. Buch would have been perfect against the Panthers but we know what happened with that.

Panarin and Zibanijad dodging checks all series long certainly didn’t help things.

Zabanejad is a tough name to spell. Fortunately the guy who engraves the Stanley Cup will never need to worry about it.

Thank you Igor ,Trocheck and Lafreniere, you guys where the greatest, the only players that put 100%.

If Lavvy would’ve let Rempe get into one brawl then I feel like it would’ve sparked the Rangers with some life. They got away from their identity and what worked when Rempe was in the lineup. Show some physicality against a tough team.

You guys need to watch tape. Not skating is not fighting to the end or giving everything you had. Not skating is quitting.

Trouba and Mika can not be on this team next year if we realistiy want a chance.

There were 18 periods in this series and unfortunately the Rangers did not play NY Rangers hockey in any of them. Extremely disappointing way for the season to end. Igor was sensational. Incredible goaltending. Without him the Rangers would have been swept.

It's time to admit how good the Panthers are. As a lifelong Rangers fan, I am. The series went 6 games only because of Shesterkin. The Rangers lost because the Panthers stifled them offensively. It's that simple. It isn't rocket science.

Let’s get one thing straight, Igor kept them in the series. All season people talked about the Rangers passing but we should be talking about how good the Panthers are on getting on you quick plus their total team defense was unbelievable.

I realize the emotions are a bit raw right now, but.... I invite you to think back to the start of the season; the day before opening night. If someone were to tell you on the day that the Rangers would win the Presidents Cup, set a team record for points in a season, and that they would go to the Eastern Conference Finals, what would have been your reaction? Seriously, did you think these things were going to happen??? IMHO, this team didn't under achieve, they OVER achieved. Yes they didn't win the cup, and that is disappointing. But did you REALLY expect them to when the season stared with this lineup? Carolina exposed their weaknesses and should have won that series. The reason they didn't was Shesterkin. But even he couldn't lead them past the Panthers. Florida was the better team, and I tip my cap to them. And I tip my cap to the Rangers as well. This was an AMAZING season. Yes they didn't win the Cup, but I appreciate the team for what they DID accomplish. Loosing Vesey hurt the PK. Kreider secured his place in Rangers history. Laffy took a big step in becoming who the Rangers thought he'd be when they drafted him first overall. In the next few days we'll find out that Fox was injured more than any of us realized, and he put forth the best he could. He is a warrior. This team is going to look VERY different next season. Do they have what it takes to get back to the ECF again? Time will tell. It is disappointing that they didn't reach the Stanley Cup finals, and winning the Cup is the ultimate goal. But for now, I prefer to focus on what the DID accomplish. They had an amazing season.

NY was a good opponent. Florida starts with defense. They have a very good defense. Offensively, they’re not bad either. Guys like Barkov, Reinhart, Tkachuk, Bennet, Forsling, Montour, Ekblad, Bobrovsky, Lundell, Verhaeghe, then adding guys like Rodrigues, and Tarasenko. And there ya have it folks. Recipe for success. #CupsGettingATan 😂

Mika just didn't care this year. He got his $$$, bought a nice house and said that's that. Trouba was terrible like he always is. Fox is hurt. Kreider is also excused after the hat trick against Carolina.

Knew this game/ series would end last night just by watching one thing.....the bench!!!!! No talking, no "lets go boys" no positive chatter etc. They were done and they knew it. All series long they were afraid to get hit, or give full hits. I hope coach shows whoevers here next year this series and lights a fire under their asses

It was a great season, but in the playoffs outplayed by CAR and even more by FLA. Trouba absolutely needs to leave this summer. An 8 million penalty box camper responsible for tons of turnovers. Roslovic is a skatinf pylon. Hope Mika will find his 40 goals ghost, because this wasn't too. Hope to see a better team next year that will come back to the ECF and further.

Laviolette some how thought they would beat the panthers with 2 3 goals....most disappointing part about this series IS they didn't realize you have to score 4 goals plus to beat these Panthers....just look at what Vegas did to them last SCF...

Pathetic this core can’t adapt to adversity

The scores in the games this series were deceptive making the series look really close.. in reality the Panthers dominated every zone all series! New York had a hard time entering the zone let alone putting pucks on net..If not for Shesterkin it might have been a 3-1 or a sweep this series.. The defense Florida played reminded me of a 90s Devils team. They made NYR look like they were skating in Oatmeal.. incredible team in Florida!!!

The worst loss we ever had they are not Stanley cup level players there regular season players that have no fight in them when it counts. Wasting away another goalie who with Trouba, Mika, and Panarin willl never win a Stanley cup nor make it. I mean lost at msg when it counted and didn’t even show tenacity in game 6 like wtf. As a fan who pays thousands of dollars to watch them the team do nothing and have un tradeable players is torcher, every year it’s the same merry go round.

Strip Trouba's C and give it to Kreids. Was Mika even on the ice all series? He was a no-show. Panarin shows up with a minute left in the series. Fox had one good leg. Trouba on the ice for almost every goal. Way to let Igor, Laf, and Trocheck down. Panarin is Rick Nash 2.0, can't consistently deliver in playoffs. That's what differentiates the greats from the good.

It is a shame these guys have to do these interviews minutes after such a gut wrenching loss. I'm sure at least one of them won't be back next year. Barclay Goodrow, hold you head up brother- you left it all out there. Thank you all for a great season.

they had the rangers number .. they were able to silence panarin.. which says a lot. They let Kappo Kakko shine which was unusual at this point since he had been so quiet . I hope the rangers can come back! Be so proud of the blue of new york and that fight to never quit and never say never. Which from Toronto I would be so proud to be part of in New York. So so proud. New york has so much more younger dynamics than stupid toronto maple leafs. I am not joking. At all. New York is for real!!

Honestly, if they make the playoffs next year, they need to just forfeit their spot in the bracket. Give it to a team that actually wants to be there and work for it. Absolutely ZERO heart left in the Rangers’ gameplay (with a few exceptions, Laf, Trochek, Goodrow, Shesty, etc.). They’re all checked out and ready for retirement despite being one of, if not the, best team in the league. None of that matters if you don’t show up to play though. 😔

Our team laid it all on the line, they just ran into a team that executed their game plan better than we did. It stings, and like Goody said: it sucks, but we'll be back. LGR

👉This pain is too familiar for anyone lucky to see 1994, a fanbase that endured 54 years (or whatever piece they were alive for) of pain and disappointment. Now, 30 years on, the wait is once again generational, so I say SALUTE TO THE FANS & LETS GO RANGERS.

Think about what we have to do to improve to beat these panthers. I really thought they fought hard and courageous. Just came up short on the defensive end. Some missed assignments and it doesn't take much against a great team, but the Rangers played great. Proud of this team, we'll be back next year. Learn from this and work harder

Laviolette could have done a lot better. He needed to move Trouba down to the 3rd pair or sit him for Jones, he needed Rempe's presence and energy on the ice, he needed to sit Mika at least for a few shifts, he needed Laffy on PP #1. It was a great run but did anyone really believe they could win 16 games?

when any team gets waxed as in their collective hands handed to them/outplayed in every area (except NET)....the correct response is??..."we lost to the better team in every way except goaltending"...anything else is a PUSSY response..

Igor is the only reason the Rangers didn’t choke a 3-0 series lead to Carolina. He carried this fuckin shitty ass team that didn’t care to put a few pucks in the back of the other teams net

Hard pill to swallow, we just want the trophy. Are we ever going to get another one in our lifetime? Every season, it’s the same story. Big money, big club, yet nothing. Same story at Arsenal.

As sad as I am, this team played well this season. I had a lot of fun watching them win. And of course they had some tough times as well which makes it tough to watch. When you’re emotionally invested in a team, you take the good and bad, it’s part of life. Sucks that we have to wait 4 to 5 months to see them again, but I’ll be there when they return. Hopefully they’ll get it right for next season. See you in October!

Maybe we can blame the coach again

We didn’t even aggressively try to resign guys like vatrano, copp, vlad, want Kane back. When they went deep a couple years back copp and vatrano showed up. Sexy names no but they have more heart than Panarin who trolled us all by scoring late. He probably even gave Bob a wink saying “yeah i could’ve scored anytime but we had a deal remember”. Team has no backbone. We should have lost to the canes if not for their goaltender gaffs. We are horrible against bigger teams. Kings ragdolled us in the finals and we still are so small down the middle. Never learned.

This ECF was an absolute disaster. There were TONS left to be desired from ALL levels. Players, coaches, and front office. It's unreal that they made it this far and did not belong in the same building with the Panthers. Our "stars" crashed and burned as they ALWAYS do when the tough gets going. The coach was too busy playing games with the lineup, Chytil in and out, the usage and neutering of Rempe was idiotic, and the worst of all they decided to start 114 year old Blake Wheeler in a CRUCIAL game where they could gained a 3-1 series lead. Not one of those guys moved the needle in the Rangers direction, but they bent over backwards to put them in. The GM did the team NO favors when they added butter soft players like Roslovic and Wenberg to the mix. These somber answers they are giving are what you are, too little too late, we tried hard, blah blah blah blah. Nobody will remember or care you won a presidents trophy. You wilted under the lights, AGAIN!!!!

Loved the Blueshirts since 1968 have gotten my heart broken too many times to count over the years (Bobby Orr in 1972😢) but when all is said and done besides the heart and desire Igor showed unfortunately the rangers are just not built for this. The panthers are a blueprint for a playoff team and the rangers aren’t. In the end that was the difference

The 1st goal was obvious offsides by 2 guys. Why wasn't it reviewed upstairs instead of having to challenge. It was so blatant.

I really wanna know what was said behind the scenes. It was clear we weren't hitting, and when we were we'd take half the glass or completely miss the guy. Dumping the puck, no hands, no retaliation when they bully us. It's confusing to me.

Fire sale. Dump Mika, Bread, Trouba, Gus. make Kreider the captain. Keep the young guys...Laffy, Kakko, Fox, K'Andre, Lindgren, Cuylle, Rempe. Bring in the prospects like Perrault, Othmann, Sykora, Berard. Start the semi-rebuild.

Thank you Rangers for an incredible year. You had heart, you left it all on the ice, you gave us thrills and chills. Very sad day. But Florida is going to win the cup. No shame in being ousted by them. Number 2 out of 32 only a couple years after completely rebuilding. Ill take that any day of the week!

I was at the draft in stlouis in 96, and i was 5 ft from neil smith, and i could sense the a hole keenan dealt with.

The NY Rangers 4 "cups" in 100 years, 3 of which were basically a 4 team men's beer league tourney. The other cup was won with 3/4 rent a players. Lmao 😂🤣

Panthers are Carolina speed and skill but hit like the Islanders

You cannot take it away from Florida, they Hustle, they hit, they check and they play with a purpose. No one was surprised the Panthers players know what their very well. Rangers have that issue of playing a one goal game, they depend on Igor too much, several skaters are too slow to match against Florida. Stop picking up players that you think will fill the spot where in reality it fails, I would rather you bring up your prospects that are ready and mold them into the style of play you are looking for. We had a good season but then the team falls short. October is around the corner.

Panthers were better but also coach panthers and their staff did great job in shutdown on PP so hopefully Drury puts up better team because now Panthers are standard to Beat … not far off at all

Trouba saying no one gave up…….BS! That guy alone with lousy decisions, passes, penalties and lack of heart cost the Rangers a chance at the cup. Him and his buddy Miller both sucked and it’s all on tape if anyone doubts what I wrote. Laviolette did not adjust at all against the Panthers. Kept playing pansy style hockey even though Florida kept kicking their arse physically. Absolutely no response and only went six games because of Igor S.

Theres a reason teams traded away Panarin Like Nash a no ahow when it mattered the most. Fox was on 1 leg. My question is you knew this team was lacking offense yet failed to even try Othman & Bedard.....at least play Edstrom for some size, Lavy gave more playing time to 100yr old slow Wheeler, Rangers didnt need a Cheerleader... I thought Remp played pretty responsible hockey but only played 4 mins a gm..... Lavy was part of the problem rolling out a lineup that couldn't do squat......instead of giving the kids a shot he opted for kakko who has been terrible, theres a reason 2 different coaches benched him in the playoffs
