I remember learning the verb HACER as a "go go " verb, verbs that have GO in the present tense, tengo, hago, salgo etc, they become "ga ga" verbs in the subjuntive. I found it very helpful to understand the subjunctive changes in the verb HACER and other verbs.

The real difficulty with 'hacer' is in English, when Spanish speakers have difficulty distinguishing between 'to make' and 'to do'. One does the dishes, but makes the bed.
@neuronneuron3645
@neuronneuron3645 2 года назад
But that comes from the meaning of the word 'make' rather than some arbitrary rule. Something is made in the bed case whereas the dishes are simply 'done' and forgotten. But you would say I'm going to make a pie, though anything more complicated engenders a different verb e.g. build a house. There's more information in the verbs we use than we realise, it contains an entire worldview and with it what is of importance in the life of an English-speaking person.

Hacer evades me. I say that because as a new Spanish language learner. it's the one verb I keep forgetting.
@MauraSpringSpanish
@MauraSpringSpanish 2 года назад
That happens. I've seen it in many language students with different verbs. One day you'll brain will just accept it. In the meantime, just keep feeding it! =)

I LOVE your channel. You guys have the best topics and your teachers are excellent and fun to watch. Having said that, I’m kinda done… ALL the other Spanish channels I watch have their teachers speaking the Spanish part slowly while keeping the English regular speed. The teachers for Spring Spanish speak slowly in English and quickly in Spanish. The advice to slow the speed down DOESN’T work because I’ve got it on half speed but then the voice is all muffled and hard to hear. 0.75 speed means that the English part sounds drunk while the Spanish is okay but the words are Sssssoooo small that it’s impossible to see them on my phone. I have to keep rewinding.., which might not be a big deal if your internet connection is good but here in rural parts, rewinding means the internet has to catch in, so complétemente useless. Please please please, Teach the teachers to slow down on the Spanish only and figure a way to make the letters at the bottom bigger. Until that’s done, I’ll find another less frustrating way…
@kas8131
@kas8131 2 года назад
That sucks if you have a bad connection, but they have to assume you have the ability to rewind video. It is useful to hear it spoken at a real speed, and you have the text to make sure you're hearing it correctly (maybe they could do more of a full screen text)
@MauraSpringSpanish
@MauraSpringSpanish 2 года назад
Thanks for the info! As always, we'll do our best in taking all of the feedback we get into consideration to try to accommodate to the majority of people. By the way, I feel you with the internet frustration. It used to be my day-to-day. =)

A cool tool in Utube is right there in the top right corner of the screen, start your desired video, tap 'pause',, tap screen anywhere away from the pause/start area, top right corner of the screen is a 'wheel', that is the 'tools', tap that wheel. Check the list and you will find 'playback speed', choose the speed you want, then restart video. That 75% setting works great 👍 It sounds like a lot to do, but once you've used it, you will be utilizing it a lot.

No lisp?
@TheSpanishNotebook
@TheSpanishNotebook 2 года назад
Theres isn't any lisp in Spanish speakers from Spain! It's so frustrating that some foreigners, especially English speakers for some reason, keep tallking about a lisp. A lisp is a speech impairment and it means that you can't pronounce certain sounds correctly. Do English speakers have a lisp when they say words like "Thursday" or "thorough"? Didn't think so.
