I like how J dramas don't show unrealistic visuals like in kdramas. It feels natural and close to heart and has such a vibe. I think japanese language is one of the most beautiful languages for me it sounds so beautiful.

What so beautiful about the story is, Harumichi is a firm believer of a fate. But, without realizing it, he also works hard to make things happen. He study hard to meet Yae in highschool. He work hard at pilot school. He is a committed person with consistent effort. It's just beautiful!

Recently, Japanese people have been overwhelmed by the momentum of Korean dramas, and I was about to give up thinking that the great Japanese dramas of the 90's would never be made again, but Netflix received an abundant budget and took a long time to complete a wonderful drama in 2022, which is now being appreciated by people around the world. I am very happy that it is being appreciated by people all over the world. I felt the determination of the director, staff and actors of Firstlove that "Japanese drama can still do it.
I totally agree, I grew up watching samurai movies and J dramas, J TV series. I just discovered Kdramas, but there's definitely a difference between the two. I'm so happy to see the comeback for Jdramas! I enjoyed the weaving of historical events because I was there! with the Iraq war, earthquake, and of course the pandemic, it reminded me of Forrest Gump. Epic!

Don't know why but j dramas have such a soothing ,comforting and dreamy feel.. Maybe it's because of the Japanese language but nothing compares to the j drama atmosphere
I myself more love J-Drama cause it goes as real life goes. I mean life not gonna be sweet all the time. Or after storm comes rainbow. Everything need time and effort not just switch like switching your hand. This is what I love about J-Drama
Another reason is also their outfits. I've noticed Jdrama isn't like Cdrama and Kdrama who gives so much importance to fashion. Like in every Japanese dramas they always finished the series wearing repeatitive outfits
there is something about Japanese drama and their cinematography which makes it realistic as well as ethereal at the same time it makes me feel they are real eventough the plot is unrealistic unlike kdrama which have polished skin perfect faces and perfect surrounding where it feels like they are jst of different world even tough the plot is realistic
I had doubt when i see the trailer. But lots of ppl talked about it. I gave it a try and i have been watching it repeatedly since I watched it. It is amazing. No kdrama can beat this. Everrrr. Seriously. A masterpiece ❤️ hope jdrama can produce more great movie ahead. There was an era where jdrama dominates I hope it can be again

I love watching jdrama. It’s like watching anime with real live people. The Japanese are so artistic to put this little detail of art in their drama that some other dramas don’t have❤
Great, tearjerker from beginning to end. The casting is the best as well as the script and editing. So awesome from beginning to end. I'm watching it again and it's even better! I remember this song and it's so appropriate! To pair the story with the song takes a wonderful imagination... thanks to the writer! I love this series. 😀
With the help and capital of the likes of Netflix and Amazon, Japanese drama is getting more traction. The bigger budget translates to better visuals and wider variety of technical approaches. The Japanese used to cater only to the domestic market.They used to not care what the rest of the world thought. Today, they try to be more international. With the advent of the internet and the platform of streaming, they now shower the world with their arts, sentiments, sensibilities, culture and sophistication. In all probability, the Japanese are the best in Asia, bar none. They will influence or at least dictate the direction of our arts and the sciences in the next 75 years.
I enjoyed this drama, it just sad that her mother stopped him seeing her after the accident. Familiarising her with her past would have brought her memory back sooner. Because of her mother they had wasted nearly 20 years of their life to finally to be together again, especially their younger years.
This movie😪 already had me in tears from the trailer alone🤧🤧how am i gonna watch the whole movie😩I love every single work of Takeru Satoh❤Highly recommended❤all the actors acting is amazing❤❤❤
I cried many times to this series! Fantastic ending! I watched it 3x already! This J-Drama TRUMPS all K-Drama i know! The issues are real.. divorce, child custody issues, mother & son relationship, porn, nudity, sacrifice, letting go & most especially the drama is on point.
@yeowoonie i regularly watch kdrama, but few months ago I started to miss the realism of jdrama and started watching it again. Best decision i've made. Maybe kdrama have lots of budget to produce your definition of high quality (graphics or beautification), but doesnt mean have good quality (in term of storyline or acting).

Glad I saw this edit, wasn’t interested when I saw it on Netflix. I thought it was going to be a melodrama about a couple falling in and out of love. I binged watched all 9 episodes last night and only slept 3 hours before work lol. My favorite characters were young harumichi and older Yae ❤ the younger selves of them was my favorite part. Such a beautiful story cried in all the episodes

I thought it is because of my covid symptoms that my nose are aching but no it is because of crying from this drama 😂. My eyes really hurt, I cannot imagine this kind of love which lasted for many years 😭. Saddest and happiest for me when she remembered him. This may really be impossible to love someone who cannot remember you for over 20 years, but because of the character portrayal and plot, I was really into it and cant help my tears😢. I thought Kdrama is the best but after this, I might switch back again to Jdrama. Hopefully the young mains will have another one 🙏
I like how jdrama visuals are more realistic none of that super white foundation that doesnt match the neck lmao that bothers me so much. And the fact that they dont look similar. In kdrama they have this beauty standard that when they do plastic surgery they tend to look the same. It's nice to see how japanese ppl have very distinct different features.

I've been seeing this on Netflix but I'm hesitatant to watch it.. I want to watch it bcos of Satoh Takeru but it's series title and ost where always part of my HS -- idk the love they had in the story.. I didnt experienced that in HS, it was the miss I had in my 4yrs of HS.. and most JDorama makes me cry bcos esp in movies they make serious tearjerker I rarely watch them.. my bro still have the orig CD album of First Love. This song will play and everyone will be quiet..
I loved it up until where this part cuts off. Not to be rude, coz it’s a beautiful drama - but what happens to them right after this moment just annoyed me. I didn’t want to watch after that. I know it’d be good and maybe done well but just not for me. I just hate those cliche plot devices that are thrown in so obviously. Other than that - beautifully acted. And super interesting up until - yeah. Lol. Sorry. Edit - I kept watching 💀💀💀 I take it back. I’m just an idiot 😂 I mean I still don’t like that bit, but it’s reeeeaaaallllyyyy good so far.
