Despite having first seen this about a thousand times a while ago, it’s about time I publicly declare how much I appreciate this vid. It’s one of the best and one of my favorite Ed Edd, n Eddy youtube vids/amvs. Great work! Also this vid really helped highlight and reinforce how much I love their dynamic romantically and/or platonically. I love this ship and thought of it during the show but considering the fact that they have such polar opposite personalities to the point of making a stable romance questionable, having interests in different characters, or if they are gay/bi/etc seemingly very closeted and peer pressured with bigots like Kevin and Nazz, that it wouldn’t be too surprising if it didn’t happen. I’ve heard of the storyboard artists approving but I’m speaking from a character and storytelling perspective but at the same time unlike other ships were polar opposites are shipped just cuz, this actually makes sense to me and would be really cute. Especially during moments of the big picture where it’s made clear just how much Eddy needs Double D and is comforted by him in a wholesome way. I can honestly see it going either way. Hey thank you so much!! I'm really glad that you like the vid that much it means a lot!! And as for Edd and Eddy's dynamic well, I don't think romance is out of the question at all. They aren't my favourite ship for more personal reasons but they make the most sense character and story wise to happen and I'd argue they have more chemistry than with any other potential love interests Like I feel like people forget that Double Dee enjoys scamming the kids, when Eddy got bored of scams in the comics or couldn't think of a scam in 1 episode, Dee was trying to help I feel like in the show their dynamic has a lot of ups and downs but the movie is where they soft of really get each other The fight scene was important cause I think it showed Dee that Eddy really did care about him and that he could be a better person The end of the movie where Eddy and Dee smile at each after Dee reassures Eddy that, yes, he can become a better person than Bro is just super important for both of their characters. Like even though, like I said they aren't my favourites they feel the most real because they are one of each other's if not each other's most important relationship and they can help each other grow Also the fact that Eddy's family is canonically homophobic (in Eddy's part in the series Bible it says that Eddy's dad is worried that he may become a "figure skater" and Eddy's mother says that he would "never commit such a heinous act" That seems like a pretty clear euphemism for worrying that Eddy's gay and Bro calling Dee, Eddy's "girlfriend" in the movie feels like a homophobic dig at both of them
No don’t apologize, I love this sort of stuff, especially since I’ve been in a Ed Edd, n Eddy phase as of late, which I’m not sure will ever stop since it’s so damn good. Their dynamic’s ups and downs are part of why I’m so invested in it. That argument is one of my favorites in any film and it’s such a good moment. It’s easy to have a dynamic between these guys be so one sided but their so nuanced and every facet of their childhoods, world views, and insecurities/hardships is put to use in a not so blunt and subtle way. This has got to be one of the best cartoons I’ve seen in terms of characterization, for sure. Also as much as I love Double D(I know it’s Dee but I prefer spelling it like this for some reason) he definitely has his moments of trying to be self-righteous when it’s not necessary or valid (blaming Eddy for Ed’s monster rampage at first despite it being his idea, being an example), and of course he is fully aware of the fact he’s being exploited like “too smart for his own Ed” he explains how he misses being the one who’s intellect is exploited by Eddy. If he really wanted to, he could just protest and not do a thing. Yes Eddy would be upset but he could stand still and build nothing, yet he actively participates despite sometimes having guilt. There’s also that scene in robbin Ed where he realizes they scam the kids and didn’t build more thingamajigs and said “I know, that’s what we do in every show, but double dipping within one deception is wrong”. Perhaps the thrill of it, and the comradery that he almost never haves entices him. If it weren’t for Eddy he’d probably be much more anxious and self-doubtful than he was towards the end of the show and his life would be very antisocial, depressing, and without parental affection boring, so I guess Eddy build his character after all, whether he wants to admit it or not
Also sorry for the typos and errors. I’m on phone right now and for some reason I can’t seem to edit it, and I’m not going to be with my pc until the end of the day. I also agree that Eddy and Double D have the most chemistry out of all the characters who could possibly be with them. I did try to play devil’s advocate and argue that perhaps if they got more screen time with the other characters there’d be more chemistry shown in those dynamics, but 1 based on what we’ve already seen it’s probably not going to change much, and 2 there’s a good reason why these characters are the ones spending the most time with each other. Even before the “redemption” or at least ending they only had each other. I’m very much aware of how shitty not just Eddy’s family is but all three of the Ed’s so seeing them come together like this and form their own is so goddamn touching. I think of Eddy at his lowest, his most depressed and just balling his eyes out only for Double D to hold his hands and assure him that everything will be alright and it soothes my soul. Side note: in a fistful of Ed I love just how proud Eddy is that Double D became a badass. He exploited the fame/position sure but he was mostly just genuinely happy that Double D became a badass, and it was almost like a payoff to when he tried to “de-wimpify” him in the beginning when everyone was making fun of him. I mean these two are typically framed as Ed’s parents, so even as a joke it’s a one and done deal at this point.
@@d.thebeloved YESSS I'll be the first to admit Eddy isn't the best friend in the world but Edd wasn't either and people over exaggerate the flaws in their friendship sm Dee definitely gets a kind of thrill from the scams and while they're Eddy's ideas, none of them would work the same without Dee Even in the movie when Dee's blaming Eddy for what happened in their fight, Dee is still the one who built the invention Double Dee and Eddy are best friends but they're also 12 year olds
nah i don't really count that since he was forced to do it. the scene in the movie where Eddy's upper lip somehow gets stuck in Edd's tooth gap is way more interesting cause they never explain how it happened dfghjhj
I watched this show alot as a kid; when i got into fanfiction as a teen i never considered this cause i always saw the three of them as brothers/best friends. But asode from the kevin x double D ship (the first ship i stumbled upon), i like this. Great amv!
@@minamvs ok, because back in 2020 I was harassed by a user who made Ed Edd n Eddy edits who went by the name of Double D x Eddy or vise versa. They even had their friends sending me hate comments, dislike bombing my videos, and I even got threats. The worse thing is that I’ve already been going through personal issues. I didn’t even do anything to them, they just were mean to me for no reason. The good thing is that they got terminated a day or 2 after being harassed. After that, they left me alone. I found out a few months ago that came back and had a furry channel. The channel also got terminated and the bad thing is that they were never held accountable for their actions.
@@looneysprig I'm sorry that happened to you. Also I'm pretty sure I've heard of them, I think they harassed one of my friends at some point too I think they're still around tho, I'm not entirely sure if they're on yt but I know they make new insta accounts frequently
@@minamvs they really need to get exposed because this is unacceptable. Do you know what their instagram is right now? Also, were you friends with someone who used to role play/cosplay as Double D? They were in the fandom around 2019-2021 and I remember reading in the description of one of their videos that they had reuploaded a video due to hate comments. I remember them confirming that it was the Eddy x Double D account and their fans attacking them. Nowadays the Double D account changed their channel name and moved on from Ed, Edd n Eddy. They even deleted their original instagram account and made a new one. They seem to be in the Encanto fandom and roleplay as Bruno. Well, after they moved from EEnE they were in the Luca fandom, but it’s mostly Encanto nowadays.
@@looneysprig I think they did get exposed if we're talking about the same person. My friend is yoshied on insta and they have a highlight detailing the whole situation and listing any new accounts the user made Idk the cosplayer but i was exclusively on tumblr up until last year so if this happened on insta or yt I wouldn't have seen it
