Dear Deborah Thank you so much for your video. I have a New Brother NV800e and was going nearly nuts with endless thread breaks after being advised to watch this video I polished the throat plate and the metal bobbin cradle with was full of burs and serrations. I think the machine metal bobbin cradle was not machined cleanly when made. After polishing the two carefully. I reassembled the lot and off I went with no more thread breaks. This evening I broke a needle when a thread snagged. The dreaded tread fraying returned, this time I returned and polished the throat place and which had a few rough spots on it and in no time we were back up and running. Thank you so much for your video it has been a great help to me. Regards.
Grit from 180 to 200 will be safe. I personally like the 59C crocus TAPE that is about 1/4" wide and 200 grit or 52C cord that is narrow like shown in the video and 180 grit. Hope this helps.
