You must be talking about carp because Trout don't have scales.

@UNCLE🔪KNIFE Yes trout absolutely does have scales!! They're very fine but yes they do have scales. I know because I fish for them year round. I have compared the two scaled and not. There is a more fishy taste if you leave the non scaled skin on the trout. You can still eat the skin of course but yes there 100% scales on trout.

@@uncleknife9887 Yes they do have scales I absolutely know this. We don't fish for Carp or Crappie. I grew up and have fished Trout in Colorado where I'm from my whole life 😎

I don't see how that would be correct. fishing tournaments, especially big time bass tournaments like bassmasters "culling" is a very common and acceptable practice. You can't cull a fish and replace your smallest ones w/larger ones you just caught if all the fish .you have to cull from are already dead 🤣 also in bass tournaments you get a fairly heavy penalty if the fish included in your weigh in dies and does not swim off during releasing after the weigh in. And those tournaments adhere strictly to the laws, rules, and regulations for the particular body of water that hosts the tournament. Now I wouldn't be surprised if a particular body of water had some weird rule like that for a particular species or something and yes ever body of water and every state have different regulations but I'll almost completely positive that you don't have to immediately kill every fish you catch that you plan on keeping.
