Hey folks,
Hope you're all well! A few weeks ago, we set out to find some trout up around the Thornton area on the Goulburn river with dad and my good mate Photi.
Having done very little trout fishing for a very long time, it was great just to get out and do something different, go for an explore, figure out the river and how the fish were positioning and try to work them out in a short 5 hour window that we had.
Gear used:
Millerods TwitchFreak and Daiwa Exist 2500
Mepps Long Cast (fluoro orange/yellow)
6lb leader

Thanks for the support and for watching Kev. Definitely something I don’t do much of, but love variety from all the bream fishing. Would love to catch some larger wild trout

Woah its so flooded last time I went there it was so shallow. I mean like the rivers such as Gilmore bridge and Acheron are slowly getting flooded

Yeah I think the level has probably come down since we were there. It was up pretty high since the summer rains

I find with the bents if you do a decent twitch twitch then pause,the lure will go back on itself. Often have browns hit on that pause.

Definitely need to spend more time on them mate to work out my technique and what they're looking for. Had another mate mention that they really like a constantly moving bent and no pause...

Personally i wouldnt stop the bent mate. A constant twitch with no pauses if you see one following increase the speed slightly and you will more than likely find you'll get alot more to commit

@@tobymcclure6591 Agree but I’ve also found a split second pause does work. My two biggest browns I’ve caught doing using this retrieve.

Hey mate where abouts are these spots located exactly? Spent the day out at Goulburn yesterday but couldn’t find a good spot, fairly new to trout fishing and just trying to find me way Cheers pat
