In that grounder you can see what clearly separates him from the rest. His 5th AB, after hitting a homer and 3 doubles, he hits a grounder. EVERY other player would’ve jogged or made the minimum effort of running it out, while Trout hustled down the line like he was getting his first hit ever in the majors. Call it a 6-tool player. Contact + Power + Speed + Defense + Arm + Hustle = Mike Trout.

He rarely steals?? He is second in steals with 13 without being caught even once. Almost on pace for 40. He stole 30 in 2016 and would have stole more than that last year if not for a long DL stint. Still stole 22. He will likely have 200 steals by the end of this, his age 26 season. 100 more and joins Willie Mays as the only non steroid users to have 500 home runs and 300 steals assuming he gets 500 and he will).

how he carries himself with this much power as a young man is as impressive and his talent! what 26yo who is a multimillionaire, owns every room he enters, can literally get any babe he desires handle this level of empowerment? think about it...maybe .05% of men can relate to this on the planet. Mike is a great representative for baseball...even if he does not take every endorsement opportunity or public glory...makes him even more impressive to not grab at all the candy.

DylanVincent, I'm not one to defend Harper because he's a whining diva and has proven how lazy he is. But I admit occasionally I've also seen him run out singles like that. Machado is another matter. Neither Machado nor Harper can compare with Trout in any facet of the game, and they never will.

My wife and I watched Mike Trout play with the Salt Lake City minor league team. We were so happy when he was moved up to the Angel's. My wife always used twisty arms when Mike was at bat. Some great memories.
