On this episode of Trout Towns, were in Boiling Springs Pennsylvania - your homebase for fly fishing the world renowned Yellow Breeches Creek and the other varied waters in the Cumberland Valley region.
Our first stop on this trip will be to the Yellow Breeches - this 50+ mile long limestone spring influenced wild and stocked low gradient trout stream is the premiere must visit fly fishing destination in south central Pennsylvania.
We’ll then explore one of the few Cumberland Valley freestone streams with naturally reproducing brown and brook trout - all surrounded by 10’s of thousands of acres of state forest and other public lands.
While in town, we’ll explore Boiling Springs rich historical past - dating back to the mid-18th century, this town was well known for iron production, utilizing the extensive springs which were later used to make Boiling Springs a destination resort community in the late 19th century.
We’ll also highlight some of Boiling Springs well preserved historic architecture. With styles ranging from Late Victorian and Federal, this small town punches well above its weight with respect to aesthetic beauty.
Please join me today as we fish, explore, and embrace our very next Trout Town, in Boiling Springs, Pennsyvlania.

I live 20 minutes away and often work at the school district for my job.. Boiling Springs is hands down my favorite town in Cumberland County and I’m so glad to see it featured! Also need to stop by TCO as I’ve never knew it was a fly shop.. just starting to get into fishing!

They have done a lot of work on the C and R section within Boiling Springs. I fish the white fly hatch every August. It's lots of fun.

Just found the page today. Love the videos. Tomorrow will be my first time fly fishing in Harrisburg area and thinking about going to the yellow breaches. Also, your voice reminds me of Casey rocket (comedian), check him out lol

The Tavern WAS a restaurant and WAS a popular dining destination. The owner will never reopen it, he is a local blight.

I’m sorry to hear that. I knew it was an institution. I didn’t want to mention it was closed in case it reopened during the life of this video. Love the building and location I hope it makes a come back.

In my humble opinion I would dare to say that the first fish you caught was a wild one. It looked pretty enough to be a wild one. Stocked browns are super ugly lol

If you find yourself in South York County PA again, I can point you to an area that isn't stocked but has holdover Rainbows and Browns, wild browns, and Wild Brookies.

My GOD that early narration is nauseating. I'm a local, I don't often fish the BS YB, it gets hammered mercilessly but there are a lot of great fish.
