Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. Mower wouldn't start, so I replaced the plug. Still nothing. Followed along step by step with your video and the mower started on the first pull.

@@user-xg1dq2qx9b It would be hard to describe via RU-vid comment because I can't post pictures. But if you were to go back to my video at the 14:55 minute mark.. It shows the reassembly. If You were to look inside the bottom of the carb directly in line with the fuel line inlet. You'll see a little tiny circle opening that's where the needle goes into but it must be connected to the float first. Im having an issue where my mower runs for a few minutes then dies ive replaced the airfilter the spark plug and the coil. Ive cleaned the carburetor so many times now but i didnt kmow about the 3 holes in the middle shaft so ill be trying that next. Hopefully that works or i give up lol
@@alissafraley4654 Yeah definitely going to want to take the main jet and the secondary jet out of that shaft. That's one of the most important parts. The other issue that you may be running into is that your thermal wax maybe failing. What I would tell you to do is start the mower with the air filter cover and filter off, watch for the choke lever that you can see inside the air filter box, look for that to open all the way up as the mower warms up. If it is not opening up then that means your little thermal wax device is failing. That device is responsible for manually opening up the choke lever as the engine heats up. If it fails your engine will get to proper temperature while in choke and cause the engine to starve out from lack of air. You'll know this because the choke lever won't open and also it will be blowing black smoke out of the muffler. If you take your spark plug out and it's completely covered in black soot then you know your choke is not opening properly. Keep me posted and let me know I'll help you any way that I can.
Nope cleaning the extra holes in the middle jet didnt help. The choke opens all the way and when i stick my finger inside i can feel the gas spraying through the jet. I did notice when i removed the gas cap looking to see if it could be a venting problem the gas was sputtering inside the tank. I tested the spark plug a few weeks ago and it shocked me even tho i wasnt touching anything metal only the ruber line so i did replace it thinking it was messing up and i used a business card to gap the coil to the flywheel and went ahead and changed the spark plug since its 10 years old. I dont know man im lost lolnot sure what else to try@@jcssmallenginerepair3261
Actually now that I've had time to think about it when I did stick my finger in the carburetor I only felt the gas as it was dying not really much gas while it was running could there be a vapor lock issue? I did try pinching the fuel line to minimize any air that might be causing vaporlock in the line but that didnt change anything I'm still stumped on the gas spitting like a Geyser inside the tank tho
