Ohhh my! never ever have I heard someone talk about "the Hotel New Hampshire- Not on YT or in real life. Thank you. Thank you so much. I read it about 27 years ago an STILL think about it every other day. Especially whenever i come by an open window. "Stay away from open windows" is the sentence that's ingrained in my head. 🐻

Man, I NEED to read 'If You Want To Write'! Sounds fabulous. Your answer to the comforting book question was kinda beautiful, dude - I choked up a little bit (possibly just my current mood 😂). 'Hanger Stout, Awake!' sounds great, will pick that up when I'm allowed to buy books again ;-) Lessons in Chemistry - my mum loved that one and has tried to get me to read it, but it's not high up on my priority list, to say the least! Doesn't feel like it's my kind of thing, and obviously wasn't yours! Great answers, Troy - really enjoyed hearing about your selections. 😄

Thanks, Alex! I was kind of resistant to this tag for some reason (general BT ennui, I think), so I'm glad my responses are resonating with a few people. If You Want to Write is kind of a forgotten gem (although, to be fair, Ueland goes on a bit). It's still in print here from Graywolf Press, so I'm assuming it's available there in the usual venues. Cheers!

Hey, Troy. I enjoyed this video. I don't think I could handle this myself, or I'd be too afraid to jump in on it. I've only read one John Irving novel myself, and that was The Cider House Rules. I liked it overall, but I couldn't see myself reading it again. I should read TH White sometime. Again, I had a fun time watching your video. Stay safe, everyone, and happy reading.

Ah, Samoas are my favorite 💚. The only one on this list I’ve read is Cat’s Cradle. I really enjoyed it. Coincidentally, just finished Galapagos and starting Player Piano. Love his writing style and the way he portrays society. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy hearing your recommendations!

I've seen signs around for Girl Scout cookies just recently, so I say grab yourself a few boxes of Samoas and read the rest of the Vonnegut catalog! :-)

Good video! I too find that looking at my shelves of books brings me peace..unless one is out of order...😉 The book from this video of which I was unfamiliar, but may keep an eye out for is Fevre Dream...I live in a Mississippi River town and might enjoy the setting/river references. Thanks 🙂

I have _Lessons in Chemistry_ sitting on the coffee table, unopened. Somehow T.H. White’s saga sounds more appealing to me now; alas I unhauled my copy years ago. I remember Girl Scout cookies were a big deal, but can’t conjure up one. I think there was a peanut brittle too?

I don't know about peanut brittle, but they did have at least one with a peanut butter filling. Maybe some used bookstore will let you swap Lessons in Chemistry for a new copy of The Once and Future King. :-)
