I often wondered what it would have looked like if the Steelers also had Reed or the Ravens also had Polamalu. Those were already two of the best defenses in football at the time, then put _both_ of the best safeties in the league on one of them? The NFL rules committee would have had to figure something out to restore competitive balance to the league, because they would have owned every offense out there..

Before I and so many of us turned off the NFL permanently in 2020, players like this - with their obsession with excellence but with surprising humility - formed the inspiration that once young boys would watch, and from the motivating actions devote themselves to greatness in life. Be like Bo. Be like Troy.

I don't think Steelers will ever find another player like him in my lifetime. It was the best watching him play even if they didn't win.
@mastick5106

I'm not sure any team will. That combination of humility, instinct, athleticism and football IQ is rare enough, then you have to team it with a D coordinator willing to give him the freedom to act on those instincts. Once in a lifetime.

Troy had what can’t be taught. Instincts to find and go to the football. He was extremely intelligent on the football field. You either have it or you don’t. 🏈
