I'm really liking that camo pattern. I think it blends in better than Multicam and when you were stationary you couldn't even notice you. Definitely a very effective pattern! You're spot on about coyote brown gear. Brown color is everywhere and goes with any camo pattern. Main reason that the Marines chose to make all of their equipment coyote brown with the exception of the old ILBE pack. I like your chest rig! Very simple and plain design and great for patrolling. Great video brother! Ken
In my opinion, I think that's an absolutely outstanding pattern, particularly amongst ferns or straight/pointy foliage similar to ferns. With rounded/spotty foliage, I think it would still be a fantastic pattern, but probably not as good as the terrain shown in this clip. Also, just a few things - Some time ago I read some comments by a military and camouflage expert that pointed out two things: - It's always much better to choose slightly lighter patterns than slightly darker patterns. - Most Woodland/Jungle patterns contain too much green....when you're looking for a woodland pattern that you can wear year 'round. i.e. Multi-seasonal. You definitely need green, absolutely, but not be totally saturated with it....*if you want to wear it year 'round.* There was a fair bit of detail explaining these points too. The explanation this fella gave were probably two of the best bits of general camouflage advice I've come across, but doesn't say "you gotta get this particular pattern or that pattern", and that's that. No. Just gives some very good guidelines.
If I can try to recall what I was told by this military and camouflage expert. This isn't word for word, but is the best I can explain what he was trying to say. As well as repeatedly stressing slightly lighter is better than slightly darker, he also mentioned the use of green - In terrain that is extremely green, such as this clip, a predominantly green pattern is best - no question about it. But the true test of a camouflage pattern is when there's less foliage and cover, not more. When there's lots of foliage and scrub to hide amongst (which will typically be very green), you can get away with a less than ideal colour scheme and still hide very well. But when the trees and bushes start dying off and dropping their foliage, there's definitely greens about, but a lot more brown and tan....with much less foliage and scrub to hide amongst. *Then the colour scheme you're wearing is much, much more critical.* So you have to have some green, sure, but (lighter) browns and tans become much more important. That's why: Yes, a green-heavy pattern is best in a very green environment, but....if looking at a multi-seasonal pattern, more browns/tans and less green is best. That All Terrain Tiger Stripe and MultiCam (and others) are perfect examples of this. Also, it's helluva lot easier to hide in dense, green terrain wearing desert camouflage....compared to wearing a woodland/jungle/temperate pattern in the desert. That's the best as I can word it.
Also, from all the various green/woodland/jungle/temperate patterns I've seen, "99%" of them all seem way too dark. Big issue. Surely there have to be some lighter green patterns....that aren't a "bright" green?
I'm pressed with that! Granted it's not eexacty suited for spring/summer specifically but it blended much better than I expected, I'd probably roll with this over multicam
The fact you're not picking up the browns and the environment, tells you brown works very well. Coyote blends in very well with a lot of different backgrounds. If not, coyote, ranger green. Ranger Green is like olive drab with hints of coyote blended into it.
And by the way our milsim is not like american milsim, we copy everything like the real deal military stuff 5 days " jungle" operatuons because we can and of course remembers our young army time :) , so your advices are great to young guys here
i am an old portuguese ex army guy who love airsoft, And you know what airsoft is great to test what you say and you have always right you and Brent :),
Nice video...one thing that keeps echoing in my head is something an Army Ranger said in a camo/patrolling class...if you are going to dress like a tree stump, act like a tree stump, ie, be still...the human eye picks up motion more readily than color variation...to prove his point, he went ahead of us and we followed down a trail...where he was standing on a stump, in plain view, wearing brown/khaki pants and a darker brown shirt...only one cadet spotted him...me, because my dad taught me how to stalk. Observe an area thoroughly before entering that zone , then traverse same, and observe at the far side of area...and if bad guys are around, don't forget to look behind you...
I'm a big fan of this pattern and the various generations and variations of ATACS. In the summer time here in Maryland, I still stick with M81, but in winter and fall, I like ATT or ATACS FG/AU/IX.
I would think Muticam gear would work better in my eyes. You can say am trying to get back to my original patterns because I know they work VERY WELL!!! Which my normal name in airsoft is Tiger Ninja. Hey I think this works better than multicam
+InsaneBassNinja Am buying my self and wife this Camo I need her to wear a Coyote Brown hijab those to make it work for her. I been on the Ferne about buying this pattern. I just want to play airsoft with her. Am going to get her to be my battle buddy when I go to games.
I was looking at coyote brown gear on Condor. and there's looks a lot darker then what you have. will that still work? (the darker color also my just be my tablet)
This looks like it'd be a solid choice for a winter camo here in southwestern pa where there's nothing but brown as far as the eye can see once the trees die. Ps where do you guys do these tests at ie state/region?
Alpha-Charlie Concepts actually I was watching this video and it's easy to see your disposition against certain camouflages. You've decided that you like this better than multicam tropic even though in your previous videos you almost disappear in multicam Tropic in the same forest but you don't really recommend it.
kvnkcrs How in the world have you come to the conclusion that I have a disposition against anything or said I didn't like Multicam Tropic? I haven't recommended anything one way or another. I try to vary what I use in videos so that folks can see as many different ones as possible in numerous different ways. I've got more videos up with me using MC Tropic in it than this, even though I've had the tropic a far shorter amount of time.
