This video has helped thousands of viewers master their Class B CDL Skills Test. This is a full Class B Pre-Trip Inspection with an In-Cab inspection and Brake Test. Your instructor is Robert. Robert is your instructor.
I watched this video quite a few times and learned Roberts method, terminology and the order in which he does the inspection and brake test. He has a great system, learn this video an these are the key components to cover, not more and not less. I just passed my CDL Class B skills test today on my first try here In Arizona. Thanks Robert and CDL College this video was great and I recommend it to anyone going for their Class B CDL.
@@Cdlcollege --Isn't every vehicle different,,will all the components in all class B required vehicles be the same ,,placed the same ,,look similar,,especially the motor parts,,,""water pump,,alternater,,power steering etc,,,,,Will they all basically be place in the same way and look the same...will everything be just as visible on all vehicles,,,For instance,,,a public transportation Bus???
I have watched this video non stop for the last 10 days, at least 40 times. I just got home from my CDL test and received a perfect score on my pre-trip. I am not a bright bulb, believe me, but follow this man and he will lead you to the promised destination! I am so very grateful for finding this, thanks for sharing this man's talent for all to use. I wish I could thank him personally!
Yeah! I'm watching him just now myself to take an upcoming CDL B permit test. He sounds informative, resourceful, and knowledgeable in discussing the subject matter.
Well done old chap. Don’t sell yourself short. You don’t have to work for nasa to be intelligent. It come in all forms. You’re a bright star my friend.
I took notes, watched this video a bunch, and got a perfect score on my pre-trip inspection. The instructor said it had been a long time since someone got a perfect score. Asked if I was a mechanic. I don't know hardly anything about vehicles. But now I'm an Oregon licensed CDL-B driver in 2022. Thank you so much!!!!
@@finnesetv5452 yeah just what I said above. I taught myself, but was able to go practice on the trucks where my husband works. The only place I could find a rental at 26001lbs was Penske. My husband has his CDL so that's how we were able to drive it off their lot to the testing site.
@@mayahdoss7050 watching this video has made me very nervous and overwhelmed because this is a lot of stuff I’m not the most handy when it comes to parts
@@finnesetv5452 I completely understand, me too. But what I did was watch the video, and pause it to write every section down. I broke it out into different areas. I made up dumb little acronyms for the verbage used for metal versus rubber parts based on familiar ideas from my background. Writing it down helped, and then I recited it to my husband while visualizing it in my head. I was so nervous. We had about 30mins to practice before my test began. Apparently all that was enough.
I watched this video for the first time ever yesterday 6 times.. passed with flying colors I even annoyed my examiner with how much extra I named. 😂 thank you so much!
Just passed the Ohio CDL Class C with a Passenger endorsement. "Not Bent, Broken, or Cracked, and is securely mounted" AND "No Abrasions, Bulges, or Cuts, is securely mounted with no leaks" were 2 statements that were HUGE in me passing. Thank you!
I’m returning a sincere thank you to Robert from CDL college man. Got my Class B CDL today thanks to this video, it was my only study source and I succeeded
This video is the reason I passed on my first try. Listened and repeated everything in the video multiple times everyday until I learned everything like a song. LET THIS MAN COOK 👨🏾🍳
Hi my name is Alex from northern California. This was the very first pre-trip vid I ever watched since my journey to acquiring my CDL. I want to send a very big thank you to Robert for being the star of this video and helping me acheive my CDL. I never dreamed of ever acheiving my CDL but I did it. This vid is the only pre-trip I saved on my playlist. Thank you Robert.
My coworker and I both took our tests today. I studied this video and passed on my first try, he studied a different video and he failed. This video will help you pass I guarantee it
Passed my CDL today, and all credit goes to this video. Watched it twice. Took notes with it then. Then I watched it again with the notes. Then I performed the inspection with it playing on my phone. Every day for a week, if I was driving, I was listening to it. Use the terminology. Use his systems. Be robotic. It lets the tester know that you know what you’re supposed to be doing. Most importantly, use the advice at the end. TAKE YOUR TIME.
I took my test on Thursday and passed with flying colors the instructor said was one of best walk arounds he had in a long time thanks to this video than you
I passed on Thursday 1-21-21. I watched this vid at least 50 times and this is the video to watch if u want to pass. This vid is great! The instructor knows his stuff.
This video helped tremendously. I watched it several times and even played the audio on Bluetooth on the way to the test site. Instructor said i was one of the best he's seen in a good while.
This video was a great tool to listen to! I can’t thank CDL college and Robert enough for this valuable tool! I passed my class B CDL test (Indiana) today 4/20/21 thanks to this video!
I watched this video over at least 200 times. It got to the point to where i could recite this entire video word for word. this past friday was my CDL test in PA. I passed my first time with flying colors thanks to this video. Use this video as your guideline. You won't regret it.
I d didn't go by the book all I did was watch this man's video I got a 53 out of 58 in less than 20 minutes successful path this is the very best CDL Class B video that there is ... I passed.. also I just want to say thank you to this man....
When I took my class B, I found an issue on the truck and yell, “I’M TELLING MAINTENANCE!” The instructor wasn’t amused…but I passed. Hahaha Thank you for this! It really does work guys and gals!
I was 18 and watched this video COUNTLESS times and thanks to this video I passed my pre trip first try. Definitely listen to this man and what he says!
After watching the video, I always practiced on my car. At least once every day for a couple of weeks I would watch the video then use my car as the prop. Or I would take my phone with me while the video was playing to follow directions every time. It helped put things in perspective. My neighbors probably thought I was crazy for spending so much time on my car but I didn't care. I was driven to pass that test. Will be driving a concrete truck soon
So I came back to leave a comment . I want to say this video helped me pass my test with flying colors . My test was in Maryland. I watched this video and took notes , wash , rinse , and repeat. I was able to breeze thru this test with no problems . His method works . GREAT JOB ROBERT , thanks a million !!!
I watched this video as a study guide for my class B skills test in North Carolina. A lot. I watched until I could recite it word for word along with Robert. Then I watched it some more. I watched it until I got sick of watching it. I went Tuesday and passed on the first try. The examiner told me my pre-trip was one of the best she had seen..."very thorough." Thanks CDL College of Colorado for posting this great video.
Bad news, Sam: we need you to watch this video 3 more times...You smoked the test, brother? Congrats on you and thank you for watching and learning. Stay safe out there, please.
Congratulations Samuel Hunter! I'm a N.C. resident too, and can assure you that you studied what I think might be the best CDL Pretrip study video. ... Just quit a longtime career as an OTR driver , running primarily Northeast (tractor trailer). Your life truly relies on this pretrip stuff. Watch it with these trucking companies! Most of them are underfunded on maintenence , and there's a shortage of mechanics equal to the driver shortage . Best Wishes and safe travels!
Gotta give props. Passed my exam the other day. Prior to failing the first time I came upon this video and watched it more than a few times. Paid for school and they didn’t teach me much. It was as if the instructor cared nothing but finishing every session so he can get back to relaxing. So I took my chance with learning on RU-vid. One thing that stuck the most was trust in the “Better to say too much than not enough” this helped me in ways I can’t even imagine. Thank you CDL College. Best video on RU-vid. 👌
This video is gold. Watched it once a day for a month and a half, and easily passed the walkaround the first time. It definitely looks overwhelming at first, but just take some time with it. You'll digest more and more each day. Thank you instructor Robert (and Nathan)!
I watched this video and self studied in preparation for my Class B test. This video was super helpful, my instructor didn't even make me go to the rear axle of the vehicle. Thanks for the video Robert. 10/10 I would recommend people preparing for a CDL test to use this video to help them prepare.
I'm required to get a Class B CDL because of joining my local volunteer fire department. I've heard about this inspection being the toughest part. Now I understand why. But your video, Robert, has helped me enormously! I'll be studying your video MANY times! You've made a difference, Robert. Thank you so much!
I just passed my CDL exam in NY.. this video was a HUGE help.. the tester said I was the best she had ever had.. just memorize this video I’m telling you you’ll pass.. learn more about the engine compartment other than that this video is perfect. Thanks Robert!
I passed my cdl class B today. Thanks to this video! Can’t recommend it enough. If you’re taking your test watch this video learn the steps and you too will pass. Also read the manual for your state. Thank you Robert! “I’m telling maintenance!”
While you’re taking the driving test (road/highway) you must obey these rules. •Make stop completely to all entrences to roads including yeld signs. •Must obey “on&exit” ramp posted speed limits and signs •Must safely stop at stop lights. If light turns yellow before truck crosses white paint stop lane, then you have run a red light. •No right turns on red light •Watch for double turn lane > go to propper lane. •Must maintain the flow of the traffic, and get up to speed as to not impede traffic. VERY IMPORTANT!!!! Must stay within 5mph of speed limit always when safe to do so. • Must look door mirrors every 5-8 seconds. • left turn one lane into 2 lanes - Do not enter into the right lane. Make the turn from the designated lane(use left lane) Right turn one lane into 2 lanes - do not enter into the left lane. This rule it’s considered illegal in some states and it only applies for class A drivers but you still got to change the lane asap after the turn.
A light turning yellow as you cross the white paint stop line doesn't indicate running a red light. If the light turns red before you cross that line it is running a red light. If you are in the middle of an intersection and the light turns yellow you are obviously fine.
I just finished my pre trip. I passed and I'm so thankful of this video. I watched this video so many times its crazy. Dont get cocky and and repeat your pre trip ny yourself out loud over and over and over. You really gotta get familiar with all the components and the terms. Good luck thanks for this video you made this whole process so much easier for me.
Yusef so I shouldn’t let the truck stall by letting it shut down by itself. To hill start a striaght truck is to let the clutch off about 50 percent and let go the brake immediately and press the accelerator right. To make right and left turns is same as car right. Because it doesn’t come with electrical and service air lines.
I got told to watch this video before I take my cdl test for the state. I passed on my first attempt. I had no idea what to do before and was worried but this guy makes it easy to understand. Thanks for the awesome video
I took my CDL Road Test a couple of days ago and passed the Pre-Trip portion with ease because of this video. The other 2 portions were easy, the pre-trip is the hardest part for those looking into getting their CDL.
Spot on, Dani! What you typed is exactly correct. The P/T inspection is the most difficult part of the ClassB Skills Test. Congratulations and thank you so much for watching. Stay safe out there.
Hey I want to say that I received my class B license this week thanks in part to Robert. I listened to his instruction over and over for the last week and a half in order to learn the CDL language and this helped me tremendously. 👍💪
This video played a vital role in me passing my pre trip test, now I have an air brake endorsement on my CDL.Thanks so much CDL college and thank you Robert 😘
I watch this video Over a 100 times when I was studying for my pretrip and fallow Robert method, it works too the tea. The instructor said I did so well that I should teach others. I was fast and I knew what I was talking about. Thank you Robert your amazing. If your learning your pre trip ,Your at the right place. Follow Robert and you can't lose.
i just got my CDL B today. i will say that the hardest part was the pre trip inspection. The driving portion had it's own set of issues but really, if you can drive, you can drive. i am commenting because i truly want to thank Robert and CDL College for this video. Robert, you did a great job in preparing me for the pre trip inspection and i want to thank you for that.
Thank you very much for this video! I watched this video about 10 times, and one extra time on my way to take my test. I passed my CDL-B skills test in Pennsylvania thanks to this video!
Thank you for showing a less than perfect vehicle! So many videos choose vehicles that looked barely used, see defects help get an additional idea of what we'll see if it's damaged
Just got my class B CDL for my job with State Forestry! This video helped out so much! Instructor had nothing but good things to say and asked if I went to a college. If you watch this video study the truck and the paperwork you will pass. Remember your phrases and be confident when you talk!
Jusy passed my test yesterday, I used every term/pattern Robert used and it definitely helped me. I watched this video constantly for about 3 days straight until I got it. Thanks you guys!
A most sincere thank you for instructing us on how to take and successfully pass the inspection portion of the test rather than just show us how to do an inspection
I must say I'm at the Department of Driver Services taking my test today and I only used what I saw in the video for the past two days I just passed my test these guys are awesome thank you thank you thank you
Thank you so much Robert I watched your video countless times and everyone at my job kept telling me “your going to fail your first time, everyone does” and I told them I promise you I’ll pass my first time, thanks to you sir and your clear information I passed my class B cdl test two days ago!!! You saved my job sir thank you
@@mikez422 when I first started there they give you 3 months to get your class B license. Your story reminded me of those days. Took an educated guess. I’m now a tech 2 there.
Just passed my CDL class B test just a few mins ago. Thanks to this video, I never had to do a pre-trip on a dumb truck before until today. Passed with flying colors thank you so much for the video.
Just passed my test today on the first try. This video was very helpful with my pre-trip, and as long as you memorize it the same way Robert explains, you shouldn't have any issues!
Between this and one other video, you guys helped me pass my class b with air breaks today. I learned more in this video and one other than I did in my cdl class I went to. Thank you guys very much for making this. This meant a lot to me to be able to pass, and I passed on the first try. Did this in Minnesota
Just a warning for anyone in Illinois that does the test after watching this video, everything is fantastic up until the 3 part air brake test, for the air leak test DO NOT have the key in the on position it has to be off and then turn it on to pump the breaks, I got an auto fail because of it even tho I did everything else perfectly, this is a fantastic video and I highly recommend it, just double check in your states book about that bit
FANTASTIC video - HIGHLY recommend it - practically memorized it for my passenger endorsement pre-trip (adapted it for a passenger vehicle). The phrases 'not bent, broken, or cracked, securely mounted' and 'no abrasions, bulges, or cuts, securely mounted' were IMMENSELY HELPFUL. Kudos and many thanks to Robert, nice work, definitely.
This is absolutely the best pretrip video I have seen, Robert is a great instructor, and I have been watching this video relentlessly for the past couple of weeks and take my test tomorrow with confidence. Thanks Robert, and all the crew at CDL College for an excellent and informative video.
thank you guys so much for this video i literally watched this video 30 times and watched it this morning before i took my driving test and got my class B
Thank you Robert from you tube I just took my pre-test exam today Saturday and I passed my course now I do have a class B at With airbrake like I say thank U again I did pass my test thank you again for the pre-test exam you gave threw RU-vid
I have my CDL pre trip and driving test July the 21st. I’ve watched this video several times a day every day since my permit was issued. I think I’ll do well thanks to you. I really appreciate this video and I’m thankful you uploaded it. Thank you so much!
I learned this video to polish up on what I already knew. It gave me a structure to follow. I passed my pre-trip and road test. That was 3 years ago. I came back to say Thanks! Awesome video!
Thank you so much for posting this video. Watched it 30+ times. Aced my pretrip because of it and the phrases in it. The examiner actually told me to stop because I was so thorough and hit every point possible.
Just passed my Class B CDL test with a perfect score on the pre-trip inspection. Had to start from the front and work my way around the entire truck, but the key phrases and top down method made it easy. Also, my truck was certainly not perfect but as Robert says, it is important to point out all and any imperfections! My tester was very impressed! Thank you so much for the video!
You made a logical commitment to learn this information and then impress the heck out your tester. We just made a video. From our point of view, you rock! We partially rock. Congratulations, Zachery! Stay safe.
Thank you for this video! I passed my cdl b testing yesterday. Followed this video almost down to the word, and passed the walk around and in cab with ease.
So, I obtained my cdl class b license in VA and watched this video dozens of times to passed! Only mistake I made was bringing a loaded garbage truck to the test site. Luckily, they still let me take the test 😂
This was the best video I’ve found. Robert’s methods work flawlessly and I was able to pass my pre-trip the very first time. Some others jump around when doing the engine compartment and they’re hard to follow. Study this video repeatedly and you’ll pass your without any problems. He needs to do a video for an A truck, as I did have to go elsewhere to learn the inspection process for the trailer.
To anyone reading this watching this video for months repetitively and practicing on a dump truck helped me pass my pre trip on 06/06/20 to upgrade my CDL to add air brakes. Thank you SMG of Crystal River FL! Great site, great people! Will be back in the future.
Thank you I just got my cdl today. Watching this video I passed thanks from the bottom of my heart. The key is to never give up or quit. Thanks c.d.l college.
I passed my road test today first try!!! This video helped me greatly!! I watched this video over and over for a couple days and passed my pre trip and road test with flying colors. Easy work!!
Thank you for such a great tool to help me pass my California CDL test. Robert’s detailed explanation and cadence helped me to remember the key phrases needed to score on the test. I recommend this video to anyone that is seeking a CDL without any schooling. Great work and thanks again, Mike
