you need a net over your window so you puppy do not have an accident, as they have been known to jump out before some with leashes on and nearly hung them selves.
It’s a work in progress but always looking to improve these videos. I started using a wireless microphone to better capture what I am saying and I mix it with the camera audio to still get the sound of the truck
I always hit like before I even see video cause I know it's going to be good. The sound of the Pete sure is sweet. Since I'm kinda new to your channel, how old is Fred? He sure is cute.
You might want to make a little paw shelf for the passenger window for your short tailed navigator. Something you can put on or take off easily with a raised lip on the exterior side so the dogs paws cannot slip out of the window area. Maybe cover the top side with indoor outdoor carpet or something. If your making a left turn, your busy and inertia will not be your friend. Use the window slot or the interior door handle as an anchor spot. I used to have an old 57 Ford truck that the passenger door could be bumped open from inside. When I would make a left turn I would often have to reach over and grab my buddy Roy's shirt or jacket because he would always have his right arm hanging out the window. Almost lost him once or twice. He apparently couldn't put the left turn idea into his head.
A harness might be a good idea for Fred. That way he won’t hang himself like my dog did a few weeks ago (and yes, I was there in time so the dog is fine).
On every of your video, you post a bunch of random strings such as "QDANLZXTZKF4TE1I", what are these? Are they used for which search engines index your videos? Or something else?
I only started watching this channel this summer so I am looking forward to the change into winder scenery (though our favorite driver probably isn't HAHA). Hello from a truck and transport mechanic on the west coast (Vancouver Island).
Great video as always! I've noticed most truckers just float the gears but you always double clutch. I am on my 5th week of trucking school and obviously I am learning to double clutch and I am getting pretty good at it. I only missed and had to recover one gear in 3 hours of driving city traffic today. I was driving a day cab Mack with a 13 speed trans, pulling a 53 foot box trailer. I was pretty proud of myself haha. My question is, is there a reason you double clutch and don't just float the gears? It is to reduce wear on the transmission, or because you are hauling heavy, or just preference? Do you recommend that I continue double clutching after I pass my road test? If I can become half as good of a driver as you are I will be a happy man! Stay safe driver, and keep up the great work! I watch your videos intently trying to learn all I can and absorb as much knowledge as I can.
Like the new cab , classy not the fairground attraction that some like . Don't joke about about dogo window diving my dads Alsatian did exactly that , it was not to bright .
I really enjoy your videos and I love the basset hound puppies. The neighbors have 3 basset puppies and they are very friendly, I really like your Pete sounds good and looks great
Seen the dog several times, but first time hearing the name and LOVE it!!! Probably some of my top 10 fav movies. If he is going to be riding with you full time, maybe make a small platform for him so it extends over the passenger foot-well as well. Or maybe remove the passenger seat all together and give both of you some extra space.
That was an absolute waste of time detour. You went right past my road there on Churchill. There is no Hieght or width restrictions at 14' I'm aware of between saltsprings rd and Belmont ave on 80.
Hello Doug and Fred. We are looking your Video on Sunday .My wife and i must laugh wen Fred look outside the window .We wish you a nice day 😊😊 Susan and Michael from Germany
Love your co-pilot, I had back one 96 my best pal, he went everywhere with me and everyone loved him, he was a German Shepherd, I didn’t do heavy hauls like do, mostly tri-axle dumps and the occasional low bed of heavy equipment, short hauls. Anyways he’d be in my pickup even before I got the door all way opened in the mornings, but it was good having him there, at least I got to talk to another, well guy, made my day easier from these yahoo’s on the road who thinks they have more privilege than a heavy truck 😢 I miss my pal! 😢
Were you in Baltimore, parked on the side of 95 southbound before the 895 split yesterday? Saw a heavy haul parked there with a red truck, I was in traffic and couldn't make out the name on the door.
Gonna name your lil truck Black Beauty? Appreciate the replies on older vids! I had a feeling you don't plan on going crazy making changes to your lil truck cuz it costs money. Figured you would do some to make your job easier and make it unique to you, not a show truck :). What are some of the weird restrictions you have seen for oversize loads? Ex the no pilot car allowed through nebraska or w/e the state was when you had that load coming from texas or whereever. Hope you can find a seatbelt of somesort for your boy or some kind of window cover that lets his stick his head out but not fall.
Alabama permits used to say they needed to be signed in red ink. If the driver signed his permit in black or blue he would get a ticket for not thoroughly reading the permit
Hi Doug , Doug here , looks like your truck is spec just right for you , love your dog , do you know the difference between a Doug and a dog, the letter "u" so beware of Doug , lol . Your dash is awesome with all of the chrome, give us a tour of it sometime. Be safe my friend . DDDDDOUG.
I’m guessing you mean the dog but is name is Fred 🤣. He’s pretty good about only needing out 3-4 times per day. But he doesn’t drink as much coffee as I do 🤣
Considering he purchased a manual for his own truck, I'd say the manual. Remember him saying he didn't want the auto when he was given a year or so back.
"FRED"! Enjoy your videos, can you mention places more often? 30 plus years in one kind of a truck or another and you name a dog after me!!! Closest I ever came to this was delivering flatbed load of casing to west end of the LIE! Keep On Trucking!
