I can say I have played both games, and they both are great in there own very specific ways, you can definitely see what points of each games on what they have worked on, but what is disappointing is, in my opinion ATS & ETS are on a 20 year old software which to this day, is awesome! But considering TWA is new and modern software, you would thing somethings would be somewhat better, but yet again that is my opinion. Both games are equally great, and I can’t wait to have the full game out!!
SCS is working on a new version of their Prism3D engine which should improve many aspects of ATS/ETS2 including graphics and performance. If I had the money I'd buy the Truck World one and enjoy both.
SCS is time to migrate to unity or unreal, or die with the passing of time. The future has arrived and so has the competition. TWA has an incredible physics and graphics. Ats & Ets win in content at the moment.
@@Despiser25They use satellite imagery to recreate the map (on a smaller scale) so what is there in-game is most likely similar to what is there in real life.
The steam reviews really don't make sense. Its a free demo to the final game, there will be improvements. And it will be based in Australia so thats amazing 👍. Can't wait for the final game release
Hi Toast. Your comparison of these two trucking simulators is flawed from the start because you use a mod truck in ATS rather than one of the standard SCS trucks. I have not see or played Truck World, so I assume the R model Mack is a standard offering in that game. In any case, thanks for the video. I enjoyed the peek at Truck World.
This was going to be my exact comment, to compare games fairly you need to compare like for like, Vanilla in both. To take a Truck from Workshop makes the comparrison IMO flawed.
@@derektom1560mate if you know your trucks you don’t need brands to tell you what they’re 😂 it’s like with cars plug to have brands in your game it cost money for the devs and it ain’t cheap
It would be surprising if that wasn't the case given the age of ATS (and the engine is even older), still not an issue for me and they are working on an upgrade too!
What the sims look like is almost meaningless. ATS/ETS2 3d modeling is really good but their game engine physics are retarded and simulates NOTHING in reality. If they can base the game on a good physical engine then everything else will fall into place naturally.
I have played myself. They have potential. But the graphics is weird, beside being superior. I hope SCS bring a modern engine to the ATS ETS games, otherwise they will be gone.
Not that hard, lol. Eastern Europeans were taught 3d modeling in public education in the 90s. Thats why we see lots of 3d models coming from E. Europe while they have very poor animation of those 3d models.
More junky content from SCS hasnt made anything in the Sim any better, just bigger, lol. Its like one town was modeled and they are all copies of that, lol.
OK, from everything I got from this video is; TW has better graphics then ATS, but other than than it's the same exact game. Getting the max out of my graphic card, and all the various setting's. Why would I abandon ATS and purchase TW?
No brand (Mack in this case) on the truck in truck world? Also, for textures and details, it's always easier to put more details in smaller maps and Truck Worlds map don't seem to be really big! The only thing that looks better in Truck World in my opinion are the lightning effects of the headlights and tail lights.
ATS wins . the lighting is more realistic. the headlights work just like in real life. painted metal. painted road strips with white paint. optimization. 2 x fps. sounds. POV cabin feels more realistic
More than 10 years of engine development and ats/ets2 still looks like pile of crap, and don't even use whole pc resources. hopefull lazy devs at scs will see some competition and get to work. they take more than a year to make a one truck model. Performance: played new truck game at launch day, I had terrible frametimes, about 50-60FPS; on the other hand ATS is like 30-144FPS (with drivers forced 4x MSAA settings). rtx2080Super @ 3440x1440 res.
SCS software is like a hundred people and they have to do everything, meanwhile Truck World used Unreal Engine. I think it shows great dedication that even though they had even more limited resources back then they still went for the hassle of making a whole engine, much passion.
The ATS and ETS2 game engine is going to be updated this year. I also think that the playing world is a big draw in ATS/ETS2. TW is just Australia. I bet TW will be locked content so no Mods. That would be very sad indeed. ps the engine sounds were so bad imho.
