She can threaten and it'll be thrown out of court. You have the right to collect evidence and the right to film in a public place. You even state on the video why you're taking the photos that you're taking.
To all of those people in the comments saying that the truck driver caused the damaged on the bmw, you all need to stop being ignorants and look at a simple little fact! go to minute 1:08 and freeze the video, look at the bumper of the bmw and say out loud "I'm a dumbass" You can clearly see that the damage was already there, even before the truck passed along side the car. Have a nice day everyone, CASE CLOSED. LOL
My son had a similar problem with a female car owner. Delivering 22t bricks to a construction site near Southampton. Narrow road past a school in a housing estate. Had been there before so when he noticed a car parked in a disabled bay just past the school sticking out a bit, he stopped and folded the car mirrors in to be sure of not causing damage. Drove past the car at 5mph, up to the site entrance and backed up into the site. 10 mins later got a phone call from his office to say that a woman had rung them to allege that he had damaged her car so badly that it was now off the road and she had a "witness" too. He told the office no not me. The office checked on his onboard CCTV and because he has cameras on both side mirrors they could clearly see no collision. They then said that the local police had been in touch as the woman has alleged hit n run. His office forwarded the CCTV images to the police and he never heard a word afterwards. Without the CCTV though?
I had a similar case here in Australia. Looked like the fraudsters were trying to claim on some pre-existing damage they'd done to their car. Their damage looked to have been from scraping concrete but they tried to say I'd hit their parked car while reversing. I had never been in reverse or driven past their car. Called them out on social media and the whole trashy family got butt-hurt. They were that determined to pin it on me that they lodged a claim with their insurance company and had a friend / family member claim they were a witness. Whole thing went away after police and insurance company had a copy of the dashcam footage from my car. Unfortunately in Aus not much can be done except shaming them online. Glad your son got it all sorted. Still, unnecessary stress though. Dashcam are important! I've got a video and description of my incident on my channel.
If you had hit her car there the entire rear bumper would have come off! there is no way you can just make a small scratch with such a big truck, she must have been smoking her old gymsocks.
More like that back end of the car off and drag it with the truck up the road. Trucks don't take a square of paint off when the brush a car, they take the entire car with it.. She is off her rocker.
My old car was written off in a collision with a similar truck in late 2017. The entire driver's side was smashed in and part of the front bumper was ripped off. There is no way a truck like that would cause so little damage in a sideswipe collision.
As an insurance man I would say well handled mate. Make sure you let the police have a copy and when you do, point out the BMW front windows have illegal tints on them too ;-)
Not if she reasonably believed that the damage was done. The insurance companies can deal with it, and the female, who yes looks like a complete tool, may not have known about the damage to begin with... footage would show the insurance companies that grey mark was already there as the lorry was passing. The insurance companies would report the matter to the police or request their clients too [alleged victim]. There is no need to involve police at this stage.
If she didn't know about the damage, why was she out there like a shot in her dressing gown? It looks like she knew of the damage and was waiting for some poor sucker to blame, thinking there wouldn't be any footage to back up their innocence. If she does make a false report and it's proven with evidence to be false, it will be noted on the Motor Insurers Database as a false claim with the footage and details will be passed around the insurers for future reference
Nicely handled! I was delivering into a shithole in Wembley behind the stadium, there's a large trading estate and after I made the drop you had to drive down around thought tight parked cars as it's one way. At the bottom we had to turn right and you had to watch the rear swing on the trailer, anyway a car was damaged and the owner came running out blaming me for it! I say owner, within 30 seconds there was about 6 Asians blokes all claiming they had witnesses me taking out the rear quarter with my trailer, I looked at it and there was no way as the gash was about a foot lower than the drawbar, also where the scratch started was on the rear door so I would have dragged the car up the road! Luckily there was another driver reversing onto the bay I had just pulled away who had his dash cam on and proved I wasn't even close! No apologies or nothing, in fact even when they walked off they were still giving me abuse and one lad jumped on his fork truck and started to piss around on the road so I couldn't get past! I always remember how they all stuck together and wouldn't back down, my word against a group!
Probably couldn't see where she was going and done it more like, either that or your just punishment for being lazy and choosing a parking space close to the supermarket entrance.
6:45 Nice illegal front window tint.. Bet that's not declared on the insurance probably none of the modifications are. Her insurance will have a field day with that if she decides to claim lol
As there was no vehicles to cause an obstruction too and requirement to stop immediately after a RTC, he pulled off the main through road in what looks like a smaller cul de sac style street.
ahh, my mistake. although you can see where I got confused as they were both technically in the wrong for that. But benefit of the doubt to the lorry driver of course.
+Trucker Jay In the UK she obviously tried to do an insurance claim by fraud. so did you report her to the cops because if not shell keep doing it to others. the blurred face thing is done by users and not youtube itself :)
well she is parked on a dropped curb and a speed hump and parked to close to a juction so that is three illegal things in one go there and the so called scratch is not a scratch it is where the paint has not adhered to the black trim on the bumper from a cheap re spray also the windows are illegally tinted as well
Agreed. The paint wasn't scraped off, it's fallen off from a crappy repaint job. You can see it on his camera on the way in, so there's the proof that she's full of shit.
Any evidence to back up your claim here? No, it is not illegal to park on a speed bump or dropped curb as its clearly here property or a family members. As for parking close to a junction; within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction is not allowed but this is a quiet residential road.
@@Gaz69HTID say that to the traffic warden who ticketed the works van for being parked on a dropped curb during a delivery dropped curb are means of access buddy their for shouldn't be parked on the evidence of parking on a dropped curb and a speed hump is in the video or are you blind as well as mis informed?
There were figures posted recently showing the highest locations for crash for cash schemes and false claims. Bradford, Luton, Birmingham, North London. Need I say anymore?
The fact it is a dark coating means it has been painted or messed with if u even touched that then it would have been silver underneath and a lot bigger not just a tiny little scratch doesent even look like a scratch looks like paints been crumbled and it's been buffed down
No, if you take the screenshot from 28 seconds and zoom in the dark mark at 28 seconds is not the damage, the mark shown at that time is on the curve of the bumper, the alleged damage is on the side, not the same place.
"I can't make you stupid , you already are stupid" . This is my quote of the year for 2016 , before long you'll be seeing this on t-shirts Jay :) . Nice one fella , well handled . What an absolute gee bag she really was , "mate" . Lmao
How does she think a truck did damage that low down? And how does she think a truck, even travelling at that slow speed, would've done that little damage. Well done for challenging and taking photographs.
I wanted to make a certain few assumptions about the "victim"... I was right on all guesses I had made. People act exactly like you'd expect them she was exactly what I thought and behaved exactly as I expected. What I find most impressive is that her mum managed to see him scrape her car through a tree and a wall and on the opposite side of the car from where they can see... So unless she has bendy vision that can see round corners she could not see him do it.... So not only is it impossible for him to have done it it's impossible for them to have witnessed it!!
They need reporting to their insurance company anyway, they're likely to keep trying this fraud on against other professional drivers to claim for the damage they caused to their own car (and likely someone else's too) by not being able to see when reversing due to the blacked out windows.
I think people making false claims should be prosecuted. its stupid how much people want to sue other people am I one of the only people that thinks we've gone to far?
I don't know what your road rules are but in Canada she'd get ticketed for being too close to a corner, parking on a crosswalk and parking over the curb
The pure gall of some people, all that for a bit of paint on a bumper! Piss off down Halfords and buy a touch up pen for a fiver and slap some on there. Nice work Jay!
F'ers like this make me sick - I had a 3 year battle after someone reversed in the front of my car!! Well done for standing your ground, might I suggest she might has a history of such scans?? 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
That's what I looked like to me too. I'd painted some Black plastic bumpers on an old escort when I was young . I used aerosol cans to do a d.i.y. And that is exactly how it looked when the painted started flaking off.
Grover I just looked and 100%agree the damage was there before so shes a big fat liar stupid to boot as she too stupid to park on her drive protected by a wall plus parked on the pavement at a junction what a cleaver bitch she is
Not stupid, just devious. It's parked there for a reason.First of all,it's a fucking shed, and it's not worth a toss.Best way to get something for it,is to have it written off.Best way to have it written off? Park it somewhere, there's a good chance of it being hit by a passing vehicle. She's an arsehole who mistakenly believes the insurance companies will pay out big, just because it has a BMW badge.
He's right to take lots of pics - I once had a paint scrape which was my fault, and 6 months later a claim came for a totalled car - fortunately I had pics I'd taken when they weren't about that saved my bacon and it was handled as a fraud case!
Friendly tip. Always remove the keys from your vehicle when exiting. Had this been a case of distraction theft the so called victim would have created the accident ploy to get you out and away from the vehicle whilst her accomplice/s would have entered the vehicle in order to steal it. You against a HGV is only ever going to come second.
The key things to do in that situation is to stay profetonal, and keep you're cool beauce all she wants is to provoke you. It is a fairly tough situation to be in by you're self. You did well J, you took video and photos. I may have been tempted to phone the police but as you probably done phone your dispatcher/ Boss inform them. I think most truck drivers have or will be in simuler situations as you know. I am also a trucker part time know keep up the vids.
Absolutely brilliant. I bet you and your company heard sod all from her, clearly just one of life's chancers. Just goes to show how valuable the old dashcams are.
I like the way you stay calm and explain to her. I have had a similar experience, even had a police car with me(the job I do) and they still tried it on. Is there nothing that these people won't try
You can see the scratch on her car before you even go past it. False claim. She's trying to blame you for something you didn't do.That' s why people need dash cams!!!!!
+Trucker Jay In the UK lol - if you actually hit her car, the bumper would be on the floor and the damage would be a lot more, she's full of shit and she knew it :D
+Miika Pekk I think you are talking a load of stinking shite, regardless of the noise and a powerful truck the driver uses his eyes and i don't think there is any chance of the truck hitting the car because at that low speed the driver would know if he was even close to it never mind hit it, I am also talking through experience as well as I was an HGV from the age of 21 then I went up to the artic low loaders and then when I came out of driving for a living I went into the motor trade and ran my own small body-shop repair garage so I to qualify for experience on both accounts, (now retired so work out the maths mr clever fucking pekk) Also looking at the footage I would be backing the truck driver all day more than that gobby tart who thinks she is on a good thing, She even says in the video about ringing the company up for "compensation" yeh stupid slut, This is what all truck drivers have to put up these days with the slimey money grabbing fraudsters who could wreck a good drivers career for scamming,
+Miika Pekk Insurance companies -slightly above PPI claims cunts in the order of human slime. Sold any personal details to compensation 'lawyers' recently? Yeah, thought so. BTW it's 'paid' not 'payed' - maybe you should have paid more attention in school. You know that red line that comes up when you're typing - maybe pay attention to it every now and then.
dopiaza2006 Yeh I had exactly the same happen to me back in 2011 when my vehicle was badly hit, I am still getting the odd phone right up to late 2015 Offering their services, I hate it when they sell my info onto other parties,
Deffo worth having a cam on board. I drive the vans for a supermarket and have had someone jump out at me saying i hit them, i pointed to the camera on the side and he just turned around and walked away. Some absolute cheating scumbags out there.
She probably scraped her car in a parking lot (running into an another car and then left as if nothing happened? Wouldn't surprise me) and found it was the perfect opportunity to blame someone for it so she doesn't have to pay for the repair.
Luv the way you handled that Jay,these chancers need sorting out its idiots like these that can cost people their jobs, that camera is worth every penny.Hope your gaffer was ok about it,be safe pal.
Just seen this, sorry if someone has already mentioned it but..... There's raindrops on the side of her vehicle, and if you had just scratched it, those raindrops wouldn't be there....... someone had scratched it previously, but she just wanted to blame you because she saw you first.
well fancy that! an Asain doing a scam regarding damage to a car! well I never! 🤦♂️ and she's illegally parked on the corner with a solid white line under her car
Don't know if you noticed, but at 6:29 you can see damage above the two exhaust pipes one the lop of the rear "splitter". It;s a shoddy paint job that's pealing off the plastic.
Some people will try anything. I was on foot in an ASDA car park when a bloke came running up behind me and accused me of deliberately scratching his BMW. He gathered his mates around and they all claimed to have seen me do it. Funny how four people can just happen to be looking at the same car at the time I allegedly damaged it. Luckily, the store had CCTV and showed me walking past the car but not touching it. There was indeed a scratch on his car but it looked pretty old to me, and I reckon he just wanted some mug (me) to pay for it.
Those front tints look illegal. Mention that if you have an insurance forms to fill in. Edit.. spotted its been mentioned before. The owner/driver probably did the damage due to poor outward vision due to front windos beign heavily tinted. :) We were told to make notes of any modifcations made to cars with any incidents.
The scratch was there when you drove past ! But nothing said about parked on a solid white line, parked less than 10 metres from a junction. You did well staying calm!
You can clearly see that black scuff mark is on the bumper well before jay gets anywhere near it ! She's obviously known it's been banged by someone else and has seen his truck and thought 🤔ummm a sucker ! a nice big delivery truck with corporate insurance that I can trick into paying for my cars repairs maybe even a little compensation money on top 👏 lovely.
A friend of mine runs his own skip company he's not afraid to say he does not deal with Asians.A couple of years ago he agreed a price to load and remove two skip loads of garden rubbish. He completed the job, house owner was happy, all good until he asked for his money.Cutting a long storey short he went back to his yard and collected one of the skips he had loaded from the Asian customer's home and proceeded to return the load onto the front garden,at this point the wife came out screaming she was going to call the Police,my mate said OK and drove off to fetch the second skip. Upon his return with the second load the Police were waiting for him.The wife as usual played the racist card and accused him of assaulting her.My mate could have been in deep dodo had it not been for the next door neighbour filming the whole issue. The police officers viewed the video footage and being afraid of being called racist they told the woman that this is a civil matter! My mate thought it didn't matter either and tipped the second load along side the first. He told me that he had left a few little items in the rubbish she probably won't like but he said I'm happy.
Do a freeze frame screenshot at 0:28, zoom in and you will see the mark already there BEFORE trucker even gets to the car. In Pakistan BMWs are prized status symbols and a mark on it reflects on their ranking. Here its a question of shaking shivering old woman left watching the car who thought car moved informs her learned daughter who decides to assert her authority by pointing to the bumper which SHE herself got marked in a supermaket but was too scared of her husband to admit. Do a search for N15 DYA for details
had it myself. got accused of taking off somebody's wingmirror in my artic and driving off. only problem was that i was in stationary traffic and the person was going the opposite way with barriers between us. people use lorries as a way to get free repairs thats why we have all round cameras now.
Just watched this on a 32" hd sceeen you can clearly see that mark on the bumper at the start as you pull up. and at 1:43 the sound is deffo branches confirmed if you look at the tree you can see the branch in question moving when the rest are pretty still..
I'm a driver's mate for a courier company who do home delivery in 7.5 ton lorrys they have cameras facing backwards off the wing mirrors to prevent this sort of thing from happening
During the reversing past the parked car in question there is a noise... I believe he reversed into the bumper lightly. It would explain why there is a scratch at the lower end of the car and not around the wheel well
