TRUCKING HISTORY LOOKING BACK AT BRITISH HAULAGE AND LORRIES AND FLEETS AT WORK VOL 19 

This brings back memories. I worked at R. O. Hodgson. First at Milnthorpe and then when we moved to Carnforth.

Thank you for all the pictures of lorries from a bygone age . I grew up in the 1970/80s and was lorry mad as a young boy ,my dad got a brand new Volvo F86 in 1977 it was painted red, white and Blue and was expertly sign written and it looked so cool I often hope while browsing your pictures that I might get Lucky and see a picture of it ! White heart timber service was the company name and was based out of Tottenham north London. I now live in Canada and drive a Beautiful Peterbilt 389 pulling heavy haul 7 axle trailers grossing out at 63,500 tonne ,who'd of thought that the young scruffy snotty nosed oik would one day make good and become a trucker just like his dad !!!! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇨🇦🇬🇧 Thanks again for taking me back to the days when life just seemed better !

The Seddon Atkinson Strato with the Cabtec Cab was a very special truck. I remember that a local Scania operator brought in some Iveco Eurotech 420s on long distance Fridge work because they could buy 5 Eurotech 420s for the price of 4 Scania 143 420s.

I've seen a few pics of companies where I've worked on this channel, the two EVL, DAF & Merc, we only had 8, be interested to know where the photos came from, both taken in the yard. The Merc looks brand new, just delivered.
