Elliotts of Poole, Good lads, Good firm. At the firm I drove for we sometimes loaded at Elliott's on Poole docks, Most loads were as good as Gold. 32ton days, flat beds Hauling a 20-ton facing back to front steel coil. Bits of timber across the bed nailed down, 2 chains and wristers to hold it down, and Brown trousers, The first stop would be after approx 2-3 miles to tighten up those chains. And on it went, StOP, TIGHTEN, GO. As always, thank you, memories.

Anyone remember Marsdens of Worksop??? They ran a Volvo F88/89?.6 wheeler rigid ...The lad used to slip a Dolly under a 30 foot tandem axle trailer making an impressive Wagon and drag ...He was always being pulled by ""The Plod""and ""The Ministry"".who said it was 2 trailers ...After a court case .Not Guilty!!!!!Loaded glass bottles ...Roped and Sheeted immaculate and always Gleaming Clean....Douglas Vick ..Old Skool Club.....

Some long forgotten hauliers from the South Yorkshire area , Rotherham & Sheffield, especially the Tinsley area was a hive of activity . The Wincanton line up could be Maltby. I think I drove Pawsons T reg ERF ....it leaked like a sieve in the rain 😅 , and the Bedford Km at the beginning is similar to the one I took my HGV in around Sheffield & Rotherham 😊
