TRUCKING HISTORY PETERBOROUGH HEAVY HAULAGE 

I love seeing these tractor units from the 60s to 80s, the types I used to drive on general and heavy haulage. Great vid of one of the classic firms of the time.

Nice to see all the low loaders. My father drove low loaders most of his career. Brings back a lot of memories as a boy.

(1975 -- 78 ) Me and my mates as Kids would bike it to Morleys Cafe , Markham Moor and go Truck Spotting . P.H.H. stood out because of the Grey cab , white roof and 60% of the time have a low loader on the back .

My dad drove for Contractors. I remember going to their yard in Farcet and then to the big yard in Yaxley, great times.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, I'd forgotten all about Peterborough Heavy Haulage... They were bought out in the 90's by W.CARTER HAULAGE, WOODBRIDGE, SUFFOLK. I worked for Carters for 5yrs in the 90's. I was based at their Southampton depot working on Containers, I really enjoyed my time with them.. From there I moved to DEBEN TRANSPORT a Felixstowe company also based in Southampton, I did 5yrs with them too. I was wondering if you'd be able to make an episode featuring CARTER'S and or DEBEN'S, I'd find that very interesting.. Thanks Buddy, Merry Christmas & Healthy 2023 to you and your family 🎅🌲🍻👍

My dad drove an Atkinson Sedon, I had a split screen, the cab was fibreglass on a wood frame.

Seeing the snow in the yard is a rare sight theses days. I remember the snow would hang around for so long it would turn grey The only place you see snow theses days is on Christmas cards
