After diving through the deep slush at "Koru Tree" truckoma overheated and would not start back. Transport was arranged for it o be brought back to Bartica. Here is some clips of the crossing back at Koru Tree on the truck back.
I am not being smart but its happenning every year when the rainy weather steps in. Why all you truck owners can't get together and buy some flat Iron tracks from the army in England and store it somewhere in the interior for this purpose. The British & US Army used them in the 40's and 50's for the bad roads and hills in the interior. This worked well, until they left the Country . Our unscrupulous scrap iron dealers removed them and ship them out of the Country. They had them all around the hilly spots at the C.J. Airport, Red Water Creek the two Sand Pits at Soesdyke where the sand was being dug and the old Mckenzie Trail to Soesdyke The same British Army trucks used to do the work up the hills with Bulldozers and other heavy equipment on the trailer/Ramp. Some of you do not know what they look like but this is the answer to those low spot crossing. Just lay them down on the bad spots and the truck walks over with the load. Its three to four feet wide and pieces of 12 to 15 feet in length.
@@chir0pter - You hit the nail on the head. The truck owners should think about having theses on their trucks and use them on the bad spots. Some of these young drivers don't even know what they look like. Thank you for the info. It sounds stupid but if the Army did it, so can you and saves the engine from wear and tear. The Govt. is on the move but it will take some time for them to remedy the situation.
There is a saying in China, if you want a city to be rich, you build the road network first. Imagine the time everyone wastes trying to get their trucks unstuck, unbelievable. They could've easily travel 25km for the time they were stuck in mud.
16:39 recovery flatbed shouldn't be there. Unless all axel powered it doesn't belong there. Pickup isn't fit for the job. Either is the wrecker trying to 'recover ' it. Just after this see front wheels turning. Seems no lockers on the truck only slip diff
