All the shots I got of trucks leaving the American Truck Historical Society convention. Filmed on 6/11/22. Taken outside of the Springfield Illinois fairgrounds.
I wish they would stop putting those straight through exhausts on them as well as those horrid front bumpers, these trucks were super sexy from the factory - absolutely no need for tacky gimmicks
6:34 I don't think I have ever seen a Bison in action before. GMC Generals, Yes, but never a Bison. And the mid 80s Mack Superliners are cool too, I think partly since they resemble the Bison and General.
Yeah that was the first show where I’ve ever even seen a Bison. There was definitely some copying when it came to generals/bisons/superliners/ and probably 4300 transtars
( retired otr driver) I know I'm old now, a lot of those were top of the line back when I started driving .... keeping between the lines and outta the ditches 👍
AW MAN! I wish I could see!!!! The truck at the 2:00 minute mark sounded BEAST AND GOOD!!!!!! OOOOOLD school!!!!!! Thanks for this, man! I've always wated to drive the big rigs. :-D
It was a International Transtar 4070B with a Cummins in it I think a 350. Spectacular truck. Your welcome buddy I love putting these videos out for people. Hope someday I get to as well.
Great video. You sure got a good spot. Watching em wind em up through the gears hard is better than idling through a parking lot. Get to see em do what they were meant to do....drive. Finally someone that gets it lol
Yep you think the exact same way I do! Glad I was able to find a good spot unfortunately this was mostly the ones with trailers the bobtails went out the other exit
Man those B model tandem axle Mack dump trucks (and cement mixers) where everywhere when I was growing up in the 50’s. Lots and lots of new construction going on then. White Super Powers and old Autocars to
Where I live I see a decent amount of Peterbilt 359 because lots of the local drivers still run them and and this one dump truck driver still runs an old Autocar dump truck and I see other older trucks too like them old Ford Semi trucks
Absolutely fantastic show, I was there. Great video as well, it’s one thing to see these awesome machines in person, but super cool to see them in action.
It was a spectacular show. Thanks. Yeah, watching stuff leave has always been my favorite part of car/truck shows. You get to hear the trucks, smell the diesel, and just get eye candy all around. Lol. Thanks for watching
Today truck they are good looking but the old trucks if they gotten a dent get a plunger and pop it back out plus they are more easier to work on no wonder most to all trucker called there trucks ol' reliable
Why do all the people that make these videos, seem to never point the camera at the trucks on the trailers, the camera follows the truck with the trailer, but not what's on the trailer, we miss some really cool stuff on the trailers.
I took pictures of everything at the show before I took the videos. The reason people film the trucks pulling is because they are the only thing moving and making noise. The only time I’ll film a truck on a trailer is if it’s A- really cool, or B- being pulled by a new truck
Peterbilt an kw are better than those gmcs and well fords were ok Paccar built two of the best trucks I've rode in from peterbilt wad the 359 and from kenworth is the w900a model
