CTV News' Michael Stittle and pollster Nik Nanos break down the latest tracking data from Nanos Research --- Pierre Poilievre's Conservative Party continues to hold a double-digit lead over Justin Trudeau's Liberals.
Then, Nik shares the findings from a survey done for CTV News and the Globe and Mail that indicates that both Pierre Poilievre and Justin Trudeau have 'brutal' credibility among Canadian voters showing they're both 'highly polarizing.'
Michael and Nik also react to the increasing combativeness and lack of decorum during question period in the House of Commons - are the blows landing with Canadians or is the communications approach misguided.
Finally, a dim view of the economy continues to impact the popularities of leaders in both Canada and the United States. Nik says that negative consumer confidence and 'joyless prosperity' is a big problem for incumbent governments - and it could become a big problem for U.S President Joe Biden.

He actually had an impressive environmental record - signed the Montreal Protocol to ban CFCs and protect the ozone layer - signed the Canada-U.S. acid rain treaty - created 8 new National Parks - brought in the Environmental Protection Act and the Environmental Assessment Act, protections since gutted by the Conservative party after its takeover by the Reform/Alliance and Stephen Harper. Mulroney stated that "climate change is the most serious environmental challenge and time is running out." You will never hear a Conservative utter such truths today. Now there is obviously absolutely nothing progressive about the party and they are rife with science denial and steering towards the far right. Poilievre is the most unfit and unqualified leader that either Conservatives or Progressive Conservatives have ever put in front of voters.

I am a centralist, I vote for whatever makes the most sense to me, This next election I will be voting for Pierre, because he understands and listens to Canadians, instead of just trying to push policies that Canadians don't want through for example: The Carbon Tax, Banning Single Use Plastics, Banning production of any gas car by 2035 (if you live up here, battery cars aren't viable in the winter, the cold makes the battery less effective and eventually kills it faster, Hybrids should be the alternative to gas) The last election I saw announced was with him vs Andrew Scheer, to me Andrew Scheer just seemed like Trump Jr , So I voted for Trudeau because he seemed the lesser of two evils, Now Trudeau has lost me by not listening, and I am voting Pierre, because Pierre Listens to his citizens

Big real estate execs, buying up much of Canada's affordable housing stock, are major donors to the CPC and real estate lobbyists have positions on the CPC's top governing body.
