It shouldn't take the joy out of watching it, but I kind of agree and can see what you mean. If it's a good show that people are invested in they have opinions about it, but then it gets to be too much. It's like, just enjoy it already! I read the books first and I'm glad they were already out before I started because I loved the story so much that I couldn't put a book down-so then waiting was hard. When I watched the show, I was so happy to see who they chose to portray the characters, the setting of Bon Temps, and I definitely had to adjust when the show went in a different direction-but when you are writing for a show that is going to be a 7 season series, they do need to add to the story(or take out of the story) in certain ways. So I just let that go and really enjoyed it. I do see what you mean though because Sex and the City is a show that brought me so much joy, and one that just means a lot to me, even after these years have passed. People comment on it now who never watched it then(because they were too young) and they want to either debate who Carrie ended up with(completely different kind of show, but the ending of the show and two movies were very satisfying) or they complain about things that weren't PC. Hello, that was the whole point.

That would be awesome! I love Bill and Sookie. Cannot get enough of them. I hope they live happily ever after. I love Eric and hope he finds happiness too. But Sookie belongs with Bill. That is just a fact. Accept it.

Dude, thank you for being that one person whose main concern isn't who Sookie ends up with. It's so gratifying to see someone cares about some other storyline in the show. Thumbs up.

Yes the books have a huge part in this. I've read them, and Sookie rarely meets Bill after book 3 when they brake up together. She definitely doesn't have any romantic feelings towards him. However with Eric, she develops an romantic realationship again after book 4 (season 4 when he was brainwashed). She falls again for Eric, the ''real'' Eric. In the tv show the only romance they had was in season 4. In the books that is only the beginning! But in the show that was the only thing we got. I think that so many are angry that they are putting Sookie and Bill together because that is so weird if you have read the books. He was only her first love, but after book 3 he just became her friend and she went on with other lovers and eventually Eric again. I would've wanted much more Sookie and Eric in the show than Bill and Sookie, like in the books. So that's why many are sad, including me. But I love True Blood and the show has always excited me. But this particular part has always sadden me about the show. Hope you understand more now why the Sooric shipping is so hard with many that have read the books. :)

Also I felt so sorry for Bill in the books he didn't even get a last goodbye or anything, he just spent his whole time after they broke up being all in love with her, and risking his life for her and watching out for her and this didn't get any acknowledgement at all, absolutely none. I mean I didn't like Bill and Sookie together in the books, I loved her with Eric but jeesh his character really got screwed over. The author is clearly twisted to suddenly turn everything upside-down in the last book just so she can stick her with Sam, I like to pretend that book didn't happen. If they go the same route with the tv series and she somehow ends up with Sam I swear people will riot.

I don't understand how she "CLEARLY" belongs with Eric both book or show. The show presented that as a fling - she was hurting, he was lonely, they did it 24/7 and then it was over. Yes, there's attraction but it doesn't feel genuine. He treated her like a possession in the books. Sorry, that's the reality of it. He wasn't willing to fight his marriage with that psycho and wanted Sookie to magically resolve it for him. Not only that, he kept so much shit from her and constantly blew her off. I don't understand why women think this type of relationship is ideal. I'm not saying Bill is 100% better but at least with them it's a lot more genuine and "equal" than it can ever be with Eric.

papachocolitis I personally don't care as much as many posters who she ends up with, but if you follow closely Bill is the 1 who truly continues to love Sookie - in 5.1 as Sookie is crying for help (dead Tara in her arms) and Bill and Eric panicked, Bill says SOOKIE, Eric says Fuck Sookie - she said she didn't either of us and Bill ran out and was captured, then when La La (as Sookie's dad) was drowning her he also was upset (Warlow went instead) and we didn't see any reaction from Eric.
