Man this a cool ending, a man going from a street crook and the son of a crime boss to a cop who managed to take down 4 crime syndicates and ended up being a better man then the very man who was his mentor on the force, that is just incredible. Also that train crash sequence was one hell of a finale.
I prefer the bad cop ending really. Both are fantastic, but if you think about it, Marcus is more competent in the bad ending, knowing full well Terry was the bad guy and that he'd show up. Still, it's hard to say which ending is better as they were both really good.
The way I see it is that in the bad cop ending he is following his old ways so he saw through Terry's facade. In the good cop ending, he's still competent, but is by the books and has honor. So he believes that Terry was the same since he gave him the second chance.

I can't lie. The bad cop ending was deep. Unfortunately, it turns out the man he's known his whole life turned out to be the bad guy and he ends up killing him.
But literally just felt the false sense of accomplishment and nothing changed for Marcus after the bad ending when he tried to run away from his past but it caught up to him, once again.
It most likely wasn't your driving, it was just the fact that if you were driving in the lane closest to the sidewalk, then the AI would have the tendency to lunge themselves out in front of your car for no reason lol.
As much as i love Sleeping Dogs for things like that story and the combat, i think True Crime: NYC is overall superior. Every decision the player makes both in and out of missions will not only impact what kind of cop Marcus is, but also the condition of the city itself.
@@thegodfather768 Yeah, the player faiilng to fight crime will cause the map to have a more rundown appearance. Trash will be scattered around the streets and sidewalks for example.
I agree, the game does it's best to set the mood. I tend spend most of my time near the main precinct in times square and everywhere north of that, (Central Park, Harlem, Inwood etc.) And some those sections of the map where clean before anywhere else.. shops opened up and people tend to behave better.
Fun fact the guy who plays Marcus in True Crime NYC is the voice actor for a whole bunch of African American characters counting boxcars in fallout new vegas.
The Bad Cop ending has a more GTA-feel to it, and has an intense cutscene. :3 I have no idea what's next, but I do have a few things in mind. Might be a slight wait though.
Marcus is a hell of an underrated character. Comes from a long life of crime and just turns out to have this incredible sense of honor and knowing right from wrong? Isiah is right. The fact Marcus just stumbled upon that at one point is baffling.
So let me get this straight. Detective Reed wrecks the 4 MAJOR CRIME SYNDICATES just to shake down the Don's of each Mafia organization.... just to find out the mole in the police department? Badass story! 😎 This game had a lot of potential 😖
@@StJohnSB yeah dude this game was supposed to have all the boroughs of Manhattan rather than just Manhattan however it was rushed so this happened. It was still a good game but imagine if it met it's full potential?

Loved this game! To bad it was filled with bugs and glitches! Other than that it is the closest we will get to actually be a corrupt dirty cop in NYC! I wish you could spend you're money on more things though. Like buying apartments and other shit! Sure had some good times with this game, as long as it was not fucking bugged up to say! :D
Patrick Bateman IKR. When I had this game on ps2, I knew how to drive underwater in a suv or a van in a lake in the park. I still have nightmares from that shooting range and driving school.

I remember back in the day if you didn't beat the game then you never saw the ending, nowadays you can go online and youtube and watch the ending with a sense of false accomplishment.
First time ever I played this game I got the good cop ending. I never ever expected Navarro as "the mole" nor did I ever ever expect Higgins at all to be the real mole at all. But hey I prefer killing Higgins instead of Navarro.
blake kersey Would have been cool to get the chance to kill them both in a full 1 only ending instead of having 2 endings, Navarro was a dick would have been cool that indeed he would have been either an accomplice or somewhat a mole himself but not the mole like Higgins.

I would assume with this ending, I found it to be the official ending. I bet Isaiah Reed is freed, and Marcus still gets promoted.. would he become corporal, or sergeant or something?
Oh my this game brings back memories when I got it for Christmas 10 years ago as I began playing I was stoked. I wish I could play this game again but don’t have a ps2 or a good pc. I'm wondering, what the hell happened to that file of Marcus' gang activities after Terry gives it to him and slams it on the ground? Did a gust push it on the tracks and destroy it? EDIT: Also, I noticed. Terry sounds different than he did in the beginning of the game, could Mickey Rourke not finish the role?
i wish they would make another true crimes but have but nick kang and the main character from TCNYC work together, it would be a good excuse to make it a co-op game
Make sure your good cop meter outranks your bad cop meter - basically, try and arrest people when possible, when driving don't run people over, in stealth missions knock people out instead of breaking their necks - that kind of thing.
I didn't know the purpose of good cop bad cop points until now. I remember that their were two endings but didn't know how but now I do. Thanks for the video and the memories. I finished the game not too long ago ending with the good ending

Had This Game In 2007 When I Was In 12th Grade liked It better than anything on the movie Theatre except Transformers that was my Summer anyway the game at least my opinion was my equivalent of Batman Year One the comic not the Cartoon movie

+rajveer singh You need to have more good cop points than bad cop points the first time you unlock the final mission. Unfortunately, this probably means another run of the whole game where you neutralize rather than shoot suspects that aren't red, avoid hitting pedestrians, don't extort businesses, don't plant/sell evidence and arrest gang leaders rather than knocking them out. If sounds like too much trouble, maybe so. It did, however, give me a great sense of achievement and virtuosity.
Call me crazy, but i don't think Terry should have been killed in either ending. Dude was a better father to Marcus than his real one was, so ending the game killing him, ESPECIALLY on the bad ending feels forced and unnecessary. He could've let Terry escape. With all the bad shit Marcus was doing throughout the course of the game, like the "errands" for his father it wasn't exactly like he was a good cop any way.
i never did the campain sadly :( i was to young to get into it so i just patrolled around waiting to find theifs or crash scenes in my patrol car :P i miss it.
Why in the world has there not been another True Crime? I mean yeah theres Sleeping Dogs but that's it? The story and acting in these games were fantastic
TC: NYC did not sell enough and wasn't recieved well so Activision canned the series Sleeping Dogs was meant to be True Crime title but Activision cancelled almost complete game because they thought game would flop And SD didn't sell A LOT because it got overshadowed by GTA V and United Front haven't got big name prior

When playing the game, try and make sure your good cop meter is higher than your bad cop meter - do stuff like arrest enemies when possible, don't run over pedestrians when driving, knock out enemies in stealth sections rather than snap their necks, that sort of thing.
Man you have luck you don't play on Xbox because it has a game breaking glitch,so when you are at the end of the mission Human Cargo u have to fight Tommy but you will never win...this glitch appears and now

I was sure from the very first mission that Terry wasn't dead! Really! It was a cliche, having your 'second' father being killed stupidly without seeing him dead at the very beginning and then wondering who might be the killer... bullshit! I was pretty sure that he would be the bad guy, I should be a detective!! :D

I think they got the sequences mixed up. It should be fighting higgens hand to hand combat instead of shooting the front cabin, crashing it and killing everyone in the train anyways.
I feel if the game was never rushed at all.. this could've been a QTA like Re4 when he ran away from the train but the hardest one because this game was supposed to be bigger than it is. Fully written and programmed, this would've definitely surpassed GTA IV story way ahead of its time and that says a lot. That's just me..
looking back at this game I honestly think Marcus should've let Terry go Terry saved his life, Marcus would have been rotting in jail until he died In the end Marcus completely erradicated all the gangs in New York City and got nothing for it, Terry just wanted an illegal retirement fund after all his years in the force, he even still left one of the bags for Marcus to take after he refused to go with him
