As I said before Scott. This is the reason why I love your channel. I learn new things which I never knew before. Not just a good celebrity death channel but other mystery things too. Your amazing 👏
Scott...I hate to break it to you...you need a show on a network. You are so thorough and respectful but most of all VERSATILE! Never a bad video. Kudos, man!
I agree, except a network would ruin him. They would control everything and change what we love most- Scott, you definitely deserve more recognition. But, you also deserve to keep making the content that you want to make, which is why you're so wonderful to begin with.
I am a NYer and have been all my life. The time of Son of Sam was really lightning for all of us. I remember my parents not wanting me to go out any where. I was about 20 years old at the time. Scared for sure. ThankK for telling the story
I remember learning about David Berkowitz whilst watching an episode of Unsolved Mysteries, he was a really sick sick man. My heart really goes out to all the victims of his heinous crimes/acts. Great Video Scott. Looking forward to your next upload
I’m originally from New Rochelle and before moving to Yonkers Berkowitz lived there and I still remember the first time I heard about him in 83 I must have been 5 or 6 which wasn’t that far removed from when it all happened.. An older kid in my neighborhood was telling us about him and I can still remember me getting the chills hearing the story and then I saw that same episode on unsolved mysteries and I’ve been hooked on this ever since.. over the years I’ve met people who knew a few of the victims
This is great episode Scott! , it's amazing and sad it only has 15k views! This was such a huge story in the 70's. The fear affected many youngsters across the country, for years! Everyone studying or interested in Psychology, Sociology , Administrative Justice (especially True Crime buffs) should be required to watch this. Furthermore, I appreciate how you take the effort to line things up. It show perspective on the timeline. A tribute to all the beautiful young lives damaged or cut short, and to all of those that have suffered because of Son of Sam.
Scott you have consistently high quality videos that are factually correct with just the right amount of humor. Thumbs up and subscribe because this guy is the real deal.
@@SCOTTONTAPE Your doing great very informative and detailed. I started watching you thru Grimm Life Collective . Thank you for the time & dedication you put into these videos I will help to spread the word
This story has always captured my attention even as a teenager. You can kinda say my favorite amongst all serial killer stories🤷🏻♂️ zodiac would be my second. thank you again Scott for another great vlog!
Scott, again you provide us with another fantastic vlog, full of information. I knew nothing about these murders, now after watching this I’m both horrified and engrossed at the same time. Thanks, love from the UK 🇬🇧

My favorite story teller. Also for stories about serial killers, you’re very huge and detailed. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 as always another great video Scott! Hi from Italy 🇮🇹🙋♀️✌🏼📱
I love all your videos, but when you do videos like this, this is when you are at your best. Amazing job. Quick random question - the music you used at the beginning you also used in your Paul Bernardo/Karla Holmoka videos. What is the name of that song etc? Just curious because it fits so perfectly in videos like this.
It’s actually children’s sleep music believe it or not lol. Heartbeat lullabies for baby deep sleep is the name of the album and i use 3 or 4 different tracks from it . I believe this one is called calm and quiet. You should be able to find it on iTunes . Thank you for watching !
I’ve been binge watching these videos and I have to work tomorrow but once I start a new one I’m locked in! You’re awesome Scott and a natural at making these videos. Thank you.
Once again Scott so so well done. The research you do is incredible. It’s beyond me why you are not on our TVs, in docs etc!, Don’t take that wrong, I LOVE all you do here, I just think ur talented enough to be anywhere. Like anything else you have to be In the right place at the right time. ( lol This is a compliment, maybe I don’t have the correct words)
Wow that was a great video Scott, and that interview with him, did not look like him, I hope he really found God, but never be released, lots of love 💖
Thanks for doing a video on Son of Sam! It's an interesting story. I personally got interested in it after the Netflix Docu "The Sons of Sam". Which was about Maury Terry as well, lots of respect for that guy. RIP to him too. I've been watching your video's for some time and you never fail to make a very interesting video. I am from the Netherlands, and because of a fear of a long distant flights, the challenge will be too big for me to ever visit the locations that you visit. So just thanks for making all of these video's , being such a great tour guide, so people like me can still visit these locations in some way. I hope you keep them coming! You are making high quality video's!
Scott, I love your channel. You’re the best. I lived in Yonkers NY for many years and I was just in High School when this was happening and I remember just being so scared all the time, especially since I’m a brunette, until they finally caught him. What a relief I felt that day
Thanks for another great video, I remember watching that film, great great movie. Australia’s Anthony LaPaglia was in that as well, that movie also sparked my interest in David Berkowitz.
Thanks again for sharing this with US Scott 🙋🏽. It's amazing how Time can change your appearance. David Berkowitz doesn't look like he USED to. He looks better now. But I STILL wouldn't trust him even if he says that He's changed.🤷🏽
I remember hearing about Son of Sam. Between him then, the Boston Strangler, the Hillside Strangler, Richard Ramiraz, Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dalhmer, the Mendendez Bros, OJ, etc, it made you wonder who was going to be killed next! Great job!
I was on the cover of the NY Daily News in 4/77. My mom did not allow them to reveal my name because of Son of Sam. It terrorized all of the Bronx where we lived at the time…
This channel should have waaaaaaay more subs. This is quality content. Thanks for all the work u put into this Scott. Im on a binge watch streak and lovin every minute. Adam the Woo has some serious competition here. Keep it up. 😃
Love your videos. You're my favorite vlogger hands down. Love how you tell the stories. Did you watch son of Sam documentary on Netflix? You should do a vlog on where they caught The Night stalker Richard Ramirez at.
@@SCOTTONTAPE you should definitely watch the SOS doc on Netflix as it goes deep & theorizes he was dabbling in the occult & that he didn’t act alone in the murders, according to eye witnesses. It ties his neighbor Sam into the story & Sam’s son Michael Carr who was David’s friend & also a member in the same satanic cult there in Yonkers called “The Children”. Very interesting Doc to say the least. Watch it!
This story has more than meets the eye. Berkowitz is a murderer but he had many others involved. My husband is a retired Federal agent and my nephew was in charge of the evidence warehouse in LIC for the NYPD. The people Betkowitz named as accomplices all died under suspicious circumstances. I remember when he was arrested there was a general feeling of relief.
Honey, your husband being a retired federal agent is nothing to brag about. In fact, as far as I'm concerned he's more dangerous than a David Berkowitz. Your husband was no hero, honeybunch.
That is such a long walk to the apartment, I'd hate to have to carry groceries there. I was interested in him a few years back and head he likes to be called the "Son of Hope" now. It's a shame what one person can do to a whole city making them live in fear like he did. I pray he never gets out, I know he has been turned down several times for parole. Thank you Scott for this story
Mr Scott on Tape I never see Skateboarding type shit like what you do -Skate Spots (a lot of subjects here) -Gator (dead girl in a surf board bag) -Where Dunn left us -Anything *tony hawk* -and of course dead skateboards! *MAD LOVE ON THIS ONE!* *"Welcome back to Scott on Tape!* This is the park where Chad Muska would sleep before he was a staple in the skateboarding community!"
Scott, truly enjoy your videos. The detail and knowledge you put into your videos. Coming from El Paso, Tx. Quick question what is the song you use in the video? I believe you have used it, in other videos.
Hey there Juan thank you so much . I can’t remember the exact title but the album I took it from is called heartbeat lullabies for babies , believe it or not lol. Pretty creepy music right??
@@SCOTTONTAPE hello Scott thank you for your prompt reply. And yea creepy and it fits your videos. I admire that you go to all of these places. I truly enjoy your videos. Don’t tell them but I also follow daily woo and Grimm collection but honestly I like your videos the best. You just have that aura that pulls you into your videos. The way you describe each location. Keep up the awesome work you do.
Love you 😍💗scott!!! you put the best stories on your vlog!!! thank you so much!!!, for teaching people about what's has happened 🤔🙂, you tell the truth , about it!!!! You explain, so well it keeps my interest!!!!! Love watching you!!!!! 💘😻💜💛 love you!!!!! You find out things!!!! Hugs 💋😘!!!!!!!
And he lived on the 7th floor not the 6th. He lived in apartment 7 E. His windows were facing west towards the Hudson River on the south west corner of the building. Thanks for the video. Great job editing. you're awesome
Another Grand slam wit this one Scott I'm from the Bronx son of sam happened few yrs b4 i was born i learn so much with your videos i can't say it enough U the Man Scott u ever come to the Bronx let me know i would love to hang out and learn stuff about The Bronx i probably don't even know anywayz brotha thanks for another great Vid stay safe out there buddy peace ✌🤟
I live on the exact block in Brooklyn where he parked his car at the hydrant and got the ticket, to walk down to the secluded area and do his last killing. The lone survivor Robert Violante is good friends with my ex wifes family. He is a terrible mess to this day, as a grown man. It's really sad. Edit: As a native NYer born and raised, I love most Spik Lee movies, but let's be honest, Summer of Sam is not one of his classics. And I really like most of the actors in the movie also. It just doesn't hit like some of his top films. Sorry to say.
I don’t think Summer of Sam is Spike’s best , no, however i do absolutely love that film. It captures such an odd moment in time and has a weird vibe throughout all of it. And that’s very sad that Robert is still suffering. Tragic.
You live in bensonhurst. I'm fr jersey and I have family that lives on Bay 17th not far from the crime scene. We would play at that Park when we go visit them on holidays. I remember my mom and aunt telling us how that girl was shot across the street from the playground.
@@djbuck4948 I didn't live here back then. I was born in 1980, in Bensonhurst and I grew up mostly in Staten Island. I moved back to Brooklyn in my 20s to my Grandfather's 3 family home. He sold about 8 years ago and I moved here and then I found that this was the block that Son of sam parked on. It is really a nice area for Brooklyn. Tree lined and quiet with a park. Guess it made sense for him to target here.
@@espo7182 yeah bensonhurst is still safe for the most part. I spent a lot of time in Staten Island as a child. I'm from Elizabeth New Jersey but I have family all over the area. A few of my cousins live near Forest avenue in Staten Island. And I played in some baseball tournaments out there as a teenager. Staten island is beautiful. I think he chose his locations for his murders near major highways so he could make a quick escape. Even his murders in the Bronx and queens were very close to exits onto the highway. My grandmother lived on Bay 17th Street in Brooklyn until she died in 2009. So three or four times a year on major holidays we would all go to her house and we played in the playground right across the street from the murder scene on shore parkway. My aunt and my mother were living there at the time of the crime so they were very familiar with what happened. their stories got me interested in it. I watched many documentaries on the case
I like how they describe his apartment as a mess surrounding by the lowest pornography. Basically describing half the sleeping spaces of your average 24 year old!
Thanks for another important video and by the way I remember this as a kid it was all over the news and the worst thing is his victims who did not pass away are still dealing with this on a regular daily basis. Some people cannot see...cannot walk or talk or use their arms properly and their family members still suffer from this yet for most of us it just goes by you know. It's too bad New York State didn't have the death penalty at that time or now. Think about the money time and energy and resources put into keeping him alive.. for what? Thanks again Scott see you later!
Your facts were so on point. I'm from New York and remember everything you said. That guys a psycho. I don't care what religion he says he is. I was 16 when they caught him. I wasn't allowed out after dinner until he was caught. The last girl killed in Brooklyn named Stacie. Her Mother really went public. The only parent that did. It was so heartbreaking.
And forgot to add they changed the building address from 35 pine street to 42 pine street. The inside of the building was renovated but that part of the neighborhood from the outside has changed very little. That is a working class street of Yonkers but you go down down the Hudson River it is a nice section with great views of the Hudson And New Jersey
Scott, in your video on the murder of Emmanuel Jacques, if you take a look at the newspaper clippings you shared in the video, the son of Sam case is mentioned.
Good video. I know this is irrelevant but I recently bought a car in Texas that came from Yonkers NY. Just an interesting thing that caught my attention.
Scott, wish I knew you were coming to my area. I have a good friend who knew The Son of Sam a little bit during his killing spree. He lived On Warburton Ave. which is 2 minutes from Pine Street where he lived. Anyway, he always told me he was a weird, dirty person who was shy but seemed like a decent person who was a loner.
Hey Scott, thank you very much for the awesome video! I love your videos, especially the true crime stories! In this case, however, it should have been mentioned that David probably did not act alone and that a cult was behind the murders. He said himself that he was present at all murders, but did not always shoot. This theory is supported by the totally different phantom images and the different handwriting in the letters. I don't know if that's true, but there is probably a lot more to the case. I recommend the book The Ultimate Evil. Keep up the good work buddy!
As a former Forensic Pathologist, I am impressed with your drive and accuracy in your content. I'm so glad I came across your channel!! Keep on keeping on. 😎
Lol nope. I only used Wikipedia for the very end part where I mention the part about him still claiming demonic possession. I get my facts and info from a combination of places and I cross reference. I try to avoid Wikipedia due to mistakes on that website and the fact that everyone usually goes there first. But of course it comes in handy for quick reference at times. Thank you for watching Tony. Say hello to my little…well you know the rest.
