Love your reviews! Big fan of the channel for quite some time. Anyway, that’s really unfortunate to see that $430 goes into such a crapy stick, hopefully you can sell it to recoup some money back. Also I’m very excited to see what you think about the sync, I’ve tried it and it’s very nice. AND, not sure if you know but the trigger 7 pro is out now. EXTREMELY nice twig. For me personally I think it’s far better than any stick Bauer, ccm, etc has released recently. Keep up the RU-vid grind, take care.
Thanks Luke! Yah will use till it breaks and should still have warranty to try maybe the 9x and see if adding weight changes the stick. The sync is a much better offering. I’m also stoked for the trigger 7!
I broke 2 True Catalyst 9X sticks in 20 days and they sent me two replacements but I am just selling them lol absolute junk from True and never will buy another True stick ever!!!
Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. I just bought this stick and while I can't speak to durability yet I absolutely love it. We can agree the price is out of control, but that is not unique to True. Dude, you're some random beer leaguer on the internet. Your opinion is no more valid than mine. I particularly like your first video where you talk about how unbiased you will be while wearing a Bauer shirt. And you buy all these sticks with your own money? Yeah right.
you dont think I buy all these with my own money... interesting you are sorely mistaken. what a wierd comment how would I get all these for free, please enlighten me. I would have to do sponsored posts, have specific links, and have some sort of marketing somewhere by a company. How could that be possible for every brand? Add in the fact I completely shit on some products and you think I could do that if I was given it for free from companies? Use your head. I like bauer shirts.
First of all TRUE doesn’t make sticks based off a beer leaguer’s specs , I love grip but a lot of players don’t. I have two Hzrdus px sticks, and they both are unbelievable. Just because it doesn’t work for you (blame yourself) doesn’t mean it’s a shit stick. You have to try the stick before you buy it. You just went with the marketing hype and bought it. Stick to low end sticks buddy!
L.o.L triggered much. Retail sticks are for retail players so first statement wrong. They don’t make builds for pros that’s what customs are pro builds to their specs. Grip blows make a stick that doesn’t have grip and one grip then bam problem solved. Next I use every top end stick and compare them so you’re hilarious attempt at me sticking to low end sticks is funny because I can actually compare you cannot. Try the stick? Dude I bought this used it and laughed how bad it was compared to a trigger. If a stick review triggers you this much you have massive life problems
Not a low kick stick guy, and gives a low kick stick bad review. Everyone has preferences. Take everything with a grain of salt. I personally love this stick.
You do know I don’t base any review on sticks on my game? I can judge a sticks recoil vs hyperlite, trigger and Rekker and determine this stick is junk. I also then have tried every mid kick stick as well to compare those to it too and determine how this stick performs overall. If you have tried all of those sticks you would also be able to make such judgements. I have many mid kick sticks a bad review and I’m a mid kick stick guy so doesn’t make such sense your comment. Add In The fact most only try one or two sticks and have little to compare and yeah you may Think it’s good when standing alone. Throw in one more thing how everyone that goes and gets an Lxpro, ft4, ft5, or tMP says they couldn’t believe they were sleeping on those sticks and you have a pretty good rating system. You like it and it works bonus but If you picked up the sticks I rank higher back to back same ice session you would change your opinion all day
Well Bauer sticks are terrible right now. Sling, hyperlite, ultrasonic have been some of the worst releases in recent memory. The hzrdus I’m comparing to the two best low kick sticks in the Qr5 pro and trigger doesn’t compare. Both the latter sticks are capable of working for any shot where for whatever reason the hzrdus kick point is so low it’s completely unversatile for anything other than a dragging wrist shot. As soon as you ask the stick to recoil by hitting the ice snap/slap it completely loses power
If you watched the video has nothing to do with style. The stick has massive problems everywhere compared to other low kick sticks. Durability, grip, worksmen ship, whipped out very quickly. I always tests sticks objectively on how they do and this one was blah
One man's opinion. I actually work in a hockey shop and have seen True grow from nothing into a company that is now #3 in the industry. They didn't do that by building horrible sticks. The HZRDUS PX is jumping off our racks and we have already re-ordered. The brand is growing quickly in the NHL as well. They have had some quality issues but likely because they have opened another manufacturing facility in Mexico - all of which they own. The big two outsource all their sticks and they all come from China. As for the weight, you should probably learn something about composite manufacturing and review their website where they state that the weight is without the end plug and standard manufacturing tolerances apply. All the sticks in my store hover around 350 with a 6 gram end plug - so the sticks are about 344 without the plug. In our store we sell more True junior sticks than any other brand. Kids love them. It's a solid company and their products keep improving - though your personal preference may vary. Perhaps you have loyalties to another brand, or perhaps you're just upset about the price of the sticks (I agree they've gotten too high). That said, a high end stick 5 years ago was around 420g and $259 US. You can now buy a 395g HZRDUS 7X for $229. Nobody is forcing you to buy the PX. If you've watched this review I suggest only one thing: try every stick for yourself. What you love, another player will hate. True sticks have a unique manufacturing process and different feel. It's worked for them. If you're a fanboy of another company you may not like them. Search the internet for reviews on Apple products. Plenty of Android fanboys trash them frequently. But they've done pretty well as a company. Terrible review - you can't be taken seriously. But thanks for your opinion.
everything you said is based on marketing and not actual wieght. In the review i weigh it. I also test EVERY stick in the top end catagory and can compare all of them on ice in games. No one can say that. so in the end I post these to help those avoid what you just said. TEST every stick. come on mate I spent over 6000$ on gear for this channel, no one is doing that and they want reviews against other sticks. I dont have any loyalties, i test all sticks because I want the best. Seems people are pretty butt hurt this 450$ stick doesnt hold a candle to others.
Dang man, I’m sorry to hear the HZRDUS was such a disappointment for you. I absolutely love mine BUT… True really does have a massive quality control issue and I’m not speaking about durability. I’ve had 4 Project X’s (two pro stock 2-packs) and each pack had one absolutely killer stick while the other stick in the pack was so bad that in a blind test I would’ve thought it was a fake. The good stick would load so effortlessly and absolutely rocket the puck while the bad one would feel as if it was made with materials that weren’t meant to be in a hockey stick. I honestly don’t know how a company can have such polarizing reviews on their products, specifically sticks. At least CCM/Bauer can explain their hate by saying “well product X didn’t fit that customer” or “it’s a negative review from a BAUER/CCM fanboy” …but something is definitely off with True. Perhaps you might’ve been one of the unlucky bunch who got a dud.
Interesting. To have two sticks perform so different very well could be that. I plan on using it hard until it breaks and if it does I’ll replace with another and maybe will be a better batch and if it is I will discuss for sure
The 7x feels good and the 9x also Just bought the 7x and it shoots good especially snapshots, I mean it is a low kick anyways, so that should be how it goes.
trigger line seems to do everything well. Could be how low the kick point is etc, however when speaking with one of the guys at the store before I bought it, the guy said there is some massive differences in the px, 9x, 7x. So could be the px is just way to low and focused only on quick release but makes it a pretty limited stick as the odds you’re always getting a long wristers off full load is low. Appreciate the info
Yeah let’s go with that. Trigger 6 excellent. Hyper lite meh. Qre10 solid stick, Rekker solid stick. Nope this is just straight garbage. Also you seem really upset when a stick review is just subjective anyway. Check out ice warehouses review first time I’ve ever seen a retailer beat around the bush with a stick. It’s that bad
lol butt hurt much. The stick is garbage. Is and always will be. Broke to fast, shit grip, bad fuse point at the blade and terrible shot power. But you prefer shitty sticks I get it. I prefer good sticks. That’s all as personal preference as this gets.
Man i wish i would have seen this before i bought one. Worst stick i have used in years. Feel is horrible and the shot was just weird. I dont know how to describe it. I used it for 20 mins and had to go back to my rekker e1. Hoping someone will buy this piece of hot garbage from me.
Thanks for reviewing, bummed you didn’t like it. I had a bit of a different experience, here’s my first on ice testing. Coming from hyperlite but having tested all the other leading sticks this has been the quickest most powerful release. Of course, to each their own with sticks. I can see where some will struggle with the light weight. ru-vid.comJeBdySz7vbk?feature=share
Thanks I’m my video I mention that it does well with that style of wrist shot in your short. But that’s all it can do and why I ranked it low. However they engineered it it’s not very versatile. Add in durability, no grip, weight not as advertised, and it just really was a miss as an overall stick.
Have you used, each trigger 5,6,7, hyperlite, flylite, Rekker, ft3,4,5 as3,4,5, sync, geo, alpha dx, lx, novium, coverts, catalyst, catalyst px, agent, advs, pro, to compare it too? I have and all those reviews are on my channel. So despite it having durability issues, no grip, terrible shot power, terrible blade feel and not actually weighing it’s marketed weight while also losing pop very quickly in testing, yeah it’s dog shit while Costing 450$ a stick that’s 200$ can do. Throw in the fact no pros actually use this build and my review stands pretty good over your practice you just had
I was wondering what curve I should go with. I am a sniper and I have been using the p28 for 4 years and I really like. Now I am trying out a p92. So should I stick with the p28 or go to the p92?
@@jakowiw_9113 the p92 has been an enigma for me and I can’t shoot with it at all. But lots of guys can. I find it’s the jack of a trades curve. The p28 is designed for toe shooting and pulling the puck in and releasing. But i can do everything with it. It’s really the only retail high production curve that is made for shooting and “sniping” there is many amazing curves that aren’t retail that are better p14, laine, for overall snipe but unfortunately you can’t get a standard Bauer, ccm, true or warrior stick retail in them. You’re kinda stuck with p28 in these sticks :(
You already commented bud. My videos are not personal preference my videos are putting sticks against other sticks this thing is a dumpster fire compared to every other low kick out there. Your preference is shit
Hey 👋 all the way from Nottingham, England, UK 🇬🇧 !!! What a shame this was such a disappointment was really hoping True could offer an alternative to the two bigger companies. That price tag though, ouch 😣…. The most annoying thing for us is actually the advertising gimmicks companies seem to be using surrounding weight. Completely dishonest advertising and brand damaging trust issues for us. Another great and honest review in the bag. Keep up the great work!!!
Boomer another great review,as you may know I was never a fan of the graphic on this stick but thank you for the honest review,I recently got an s21 bauer vapor league stick which was made for b.c. junior players and the balance and feel for the price point on it is unreal, I also had this stick in a nexus but for some reason the vapor feels wayyyyy better.
Hello Boomer! Wow, what an amazement was to find your hockey stick reviews on youtube! I have been long disgusted with most of the stick reviews out there especially ones made by hockey stores, whcih basically only repeated the brand slang and offerred nothing in terms of actual user experience. From now on I can finally hear something useful which I can share with our customers. Would you mind if we used your stick reviews in our online shop instead of the official useless stick reviews we were posting so far? Cheers and all the best from Slovenia! Miha, founder of Hockey Repair Shop
a person called "hockey hustler" "reviewed" this stick by shooting wristers in a shooting box thing and said he recomended this stick which most likely he did for every other stick "review" he did
Yeah I try not to post on things but the so called “reviews” on youtube are hilarious. But keeps me in business I guess. It’s silly to review a stick you haven’t bought or used in a real game
I see you take a lot of slapshots, do your rankings change for just snapshots? For some reason I can't take a wrister to save my life but I get decent power from either the regular snap or the toe drag far foot version.
Decent price. Good luck. As it’s been out awhile the durability has shown issues and seems like most are complaining about the wierd deadness on some shooting. But let us know what you think
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews appreciate it! I’ve seen some really polarized reviews. Some claiming it’s great, some claiming it broke within a few uses.. etc… also, at the store I was testing the flex. Even picked up a 55 flex so you could obviously feel a difference and that thing felt like an 80 flex. It’ll be my first TRUE stick so unsure of they flexes etc…
I’m curious if because of the way people shoot maybe the stick was horrible for you because of your shot style because my teammates love it so that’s why I think shot style is important and you definitely have a unique style of shot
I have a couple team mates that picked this up recently and have same complaints as me. They are also trigger users so once you compare to a trigger I think that’s where the issues come from. Keep in mind there is also durability issues. Grip issues, on top of shooting. So it’s a whole package for me. But yes I have a unique shot style.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews ya and I think what really pisses me off is why are we spending 300-400 dollars on something that won’t even last a season I think they should start making a top end line that focuses on durability and less on weight
@@Thatguyisdead27 I feel like they can find a really solid medium of tech and carbon layering that sits around 380 grams that is durable. Not really sure why they are chasing weights of sub 350 no way it’s gonna last
Now that I've been using this weekly as a beer leaguer...I couldn't disagree with this more. Puck feel of course is incredible as is with most True sticks, but I find this to be scary accurate. My snap shots feel fast, maybe slightly less pop than the trigger 6 I also regularly use, but I feel the handling, accuracy, and speed is better on this Hzrdous. I'm also heavily involved with fashion and design and i think this is one of the best designed sticks from a graphic standpoint. Also, I took a shooting class where I took a bunch of one timers in stride on the off wing and I really felt like the shot was deadly and easy to hit targets. I'm using the 9x to provide specifics to anyone curious
Sticks have been bad, haven’t tried other aspects of their lines yet like protective or skates but generally it’s not greatly appealing from my perspective.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I tried on a pair of their skates once. It felt like I was wearing a plastic Rollerblade boot with no liner. Not sure how guys perform in those.
review a pro stock vapor adv. get a pro stock in your specs. BGP2B stick code. my absolute favourite low kick stick as a bauer guy now and if only weighs about 355 grams
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews i just got 2 off sidelineswap for 300. heck of a deal for one of the best low kick sticks. and these sticks also don’t have any crazy taper or shaft shape or anything which i love
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews New Hyper Lite is the stick to wait for! The Bauer NHL pros and Bedard are skyrocketing sales of the Synch! It’s a very good stick and in 2023 you won’t see many in stores! Sling backfired due to no pros using it and lazy entitled kids taping over the hole lol there went the gimmick! The sound the Synch makes 🏒👍 lol
@@1550tc I buy like 20 sticks a year haha. Maybe more. So I’ll just pick up when it arrives. I’m Back in my FT5Pro and tMP pro as gamers for now. Winter season start is 3 weeks away. So usually I’ll run 1 or so sticks a month. Mine always break quick unfortunately 5 ice times week
Only problem with my reviews is you can’t update them the as4 review is older. For current stats the 410 now is heavier. Some like that some don’t. Current stick lines are sub 400. I used a as4 pro a few weeks back again was great stick but noticeably heavier compared to the current offerings is all.
Unfortunately most don’t have the ability to compare it to every top end stick on the market and use it and test it back to back with other sticks right then and there. So if it was stand alone and never used much else but a regular gamer they may think it’s good yah
@@johnnypatris4305 if it was truly that insane it would be the stick Of choice for many nhlers And converting them All, unfortunately it’s just meh and not the case.
@@salohockeyboyz2225 that’s been the plan! Slower than I hoped haha. Nah just kidding I would have bought the gear anyway so it’s why I started the Channel.
@@BrentLast1 because you’re watching the edited early part of the video at 4:25 it’s not taped and on the scale when I first purchased it, I sometimes edit out of order.
Impressive you used it for that long. I had two and they busted in weeks. Preference yes, but also because I have used many low kicks in comparison there is far better sticks
Ugh...super disappointed...hideous skates, overpriced sticks...these companies are pricing themselves straight out of the market...unbelievable. actually, VERY believable. BTW...headed to Phoenix to try out all the top end skates this weekend...I'll let you know what I walk away with...
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews I agree...I had Makos...and they were weird as heck looking...but fit..SO nice...that said...I looked at the Trues....just...so odd...
Beer League Bum hockey reviews, thanks for the video. I don`t play HZRDUS PX yet, but soon сan try 9X, 7X and 3X. And then PX. 1. Weight. From True catalog *The stated weight of the stick is not intended to, and should not be relied upon to, calculate the actual weight of the stick. Variances may result in the actual weight of the stick for numerous reasons, including, and without limitation: manufacturing tolerances, the endcap weight, the length of the stick, the blade pattern and stiffness of the stick, performance considerations, cosmetics, packaging, any post-manufacturing modifications / additions (such as the grip, knob sticker, or consumer packaging), and/or other reasons. 2. Grip for weight loss also i think. 3. You like Alpha,Trigger 6 Pro and Sherwood Code, but its not a same, that HZRDUS Ribcor. Alpha, Code - it`s classic low kick point or mid-low. They are more versatile. Vapor, Covert, Rekker, HZRDUS - it`s ultralow kick point and all about quick release. If talking about True, A6.0 HT and A4.5 HT - first low kick stick from True and it`s mid-low like a AX series. in HZRDUS more dna Project X, which have ultralow kick point.
Hey hey, I have followed you on instragm for a long time. Nice to hear from you. Always enjoy your content. I understand on the weight on variances, my issue with it is posting the 345 gram video when clearly they aren’t showing the whole stick or specs. If they say 345 it should take everything you just said into consideration. Or just say it’s 357 grams. Problem solved. I weighed a few since I have some friends at the store and not one of them was actually 345 grams, one was 365!. So why bother using it as marketing. It isn’t true. Yep I’m very versed in sticks, have used everyone high end stick that ever comes out, and although mid and low are very different in performance it’s the sticks ability to recoil and generate power on different shots that goes into my ratings. Not if I would use it or not. My gamer is specific to my shot style. Doesn’t mean I can’t tell a good stick from a bad stick. For example I like the ribcore but would never use it and not this because the ribcore as a low kick stick recoils on all shots enough to show puck velocity no matter the shot. The Px does not. The px doesn’t recoil for shot velocity well unless it’s a dragging wrist shot, which means it’s recoil isn’t set up well for energy transfer across the stick. Which means it wasn’t engineered well or put against other sticks to be like ok we missed something. In the end I test all sticks and understand what and how they should be used in real World situations. If I try and take a one timer and lose velocity because how a stick is built that means the sticks tech and ability is lacking. Hence the low rating on the px. If you want a good low kick stick that enhances your game no matter the situation the ribcore is it.
@@beerleaguebumhockeyreviews, hey! Thank you for your feedback!🙂 1. I agree. It is better to write the real weight. But all brands can be blamed for this. I have already stopped counting on official weight and wait when can weigh by myself. 2. I came to the conclusion that the same flex point does not guarantee a similar game experience. Rather, it is necessary to look at the desired properties - weight, balance, shaft work and geometry, blade properties. Combination of this moments really help get a right choice. Therefore, it is always interesting to choose a new stick! I also try to watch your videos, it's interesting to compare my impressions on different models.👍
