Watched this film in a theater. 30 years ago...times fly😄. Bill Paxton was the lucky charm actor for Cameron in that period. Terminator, Aliens, Titanic. He was Amazing. Also Cameron ask Arnold to share with Jamie to be the Star of this one. This is an Arnold and Jamie movie. I've learned this not so long ago. ❤ One more thing, i'm from Argentina, Tango is our music and dance. The song is "Por Una Cabeza", Astor Piazzolla. You two, i wish you have a very nice day!
4:55..People say no way on that trick..But the dogs weighed about 100 lbs each, while Arnie could bench press 500, so it's doable. 8:16..Doggone if Heston dosen't look like Marvel's Nick Fury ( The original, not Samual Jackson's one) in that scene.11:37..Pool old dude'll never use another public restroom again! 18:55. I liked the guy, too..From " Aliens and " Titanic " to " 2 guns" ( 2013), he could play the scummiest guys with funny realism-- RIP.39:42-Good point --death by Pelican is too nice for evil folk like that. Great movie, funny and action-packed..enjoyed the reactions ladies!
"You're fired!" Basically Jim Cameron's attempt at a 007 film. It's super quotable, with such a great script. Also, the chemistry between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jaime Lee Curtis is fantastic in this movie. It really helps to bring their characters to life.
Rumor has it that when Tom Arnold was telling the story about getting divorced, and his ex took the ice from the ice trays... that really happened to him when he separated from Roseanne Barr.
"Have you ever killed anyone?" "Yeah, but they were all bad." Fun Fact: The USMC supplied three Harriers and their pilots for a fee of $100,736 ($2,410 per hour). Art Imitates Life Fact: At one point in the movie, Gib tells a story about his second wife taking everything when she left him, even the ice cube trays from the freezer. This is a direct reference to Tom Arnold's divorce from Roseanne Barr that was happening at the same time. Barr was reported to have taken his ice cube trays when she left him as well. Arnold told the story to James Cameron on the set and Cameron incorporated it into the film. That's Hot Fact: The set of bra and matching panties worn by Helen Tasker during the striptease scene were Jamie Lee Curtis's own. Curtis rehearsed the scene extensively with director James Cameron, and it was there that the fall she makes in the middle of the dance was conceived (it didn't happen spontaneously during the actual shooting, as is often claimed). Arnold Schwarzenegger was not told of this beforehand, and this is hinted at when Harry briefly sits up in alarm, realizes that he is breaking character, and then relaxes.
GOLDEN, I love this movie, my father enjoyed this movie so much, he watched it on repeat I remember as a teenager, his lovely heart, I love him very much, I'm happy he enjoyed it. This world is so dark many times so it's so pleasurable to see something truly funny and lovely.
My favorite trivias ive learned over the years is the voice of the helicopter pilot who says she's got her head on his lap yahoo is James Cameron, and that JLC for her birthday wanted to do the actual stunt of hanging out the helicopter and you can see James on the helicopter as well shooting the stunt.
Stuntwoman who did the gag hanging from the helicopter was in Playboy Stuntwomen edition when this came out. And yes JLC body is crazy in this. Lot of people thought it may have been a body double at first.
I love this movie! Its hilarious. A great cast. "Care to tango?" " Yes i would" "A@#holes"😅 "She took everything, i mean everything, she even took the ice cube trays out of the freezer. What kind of a sick b@tch takes the icecube trays out of the freezer!?!"
The USMC used the "Advanced Harrier" which is a slightly modified British Harrier commonly called the "Jump Jet" owing to the fact it can take off and hover like a helicopter
I remember showing up to the shooting location in New Port Rhode Island to try for an extra part. That was a nice thing the Director did for the locals. New Port Mansions were used as the Switzerland scenes. The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, Rosecliff, Chepstow and Chateau-sur-Mer. Look them up or Visit sometime.
Ladies, great movie choice. Haven’t seen it in a long time.I think the first time I saw it we rented it from Blockbuster. If you like this one, you might also like Arnold’s Last Action Hero.
It always made me laugh how Jamie Lee Curtis character just happens to be married to a guy who has the physique of a 7 time Mr Olympia. Fun Fact : when Jamie gets lifted out of the limousine, it was on her birthday and she wanted to do the stunt herself.
Great movie! Love your reaction/ appreciation!!! The bad guy, Art Malik, was the lead romantic role in “The Jewel in the Crown” and played a good/bad guy with Timothy Dalton in a James Bond 007 movie, plus he was master of horse, Omar Sharif’s son, in “The Far Pavilions.” All are favorite movies of mine. Art Malik was raised in England, his family is from Pakistan but he never learned the language.
Tom Arnold’s crowning role. The “man in the chair” for Arnie & he owned it. The camcorder losing power scene had people in the theater in the isles laughing. The road being blown up is actually American history. They had just completed the replacement and dismantled a section to deter usage. 2 birds, one demolition.
24:29 Schwarzenegger’s personal HK94 makes another film appearance. It also appears in the climax being held by the SWAT team member saying the news crew has arrived.
Initially Arnold didn't want Tom in the movie. Changed his mind after a few terrible other auditions. When Arnold dropped the Walkman, it wasn't supposed to happen so a blooper made it in to the movie.
When JLC was dancing real sexy and she lost her grip on the bed post and fell, that wasn't in the script. Jamie fell on accident and they kept it in the film. Arnold's reaction was real. Nice mistake. You'd think they wrote in the beginning.
It is often said in the spy world it is good to be good but being lucky is better than being good. The dropped gun taking others out would be dangerous to all but it "worked out" and is quite possible. Enjoyed this film and wished they made another, also loved the Harrier growing up. Thought if I could afford one it would be the perfect get around anyplace fast vehicle.
❤👍🏼 So Natalie since you are such a big Arnold fan where would you rate this movie among the ones you have seen ❓ Michelle where do you rank it among Arnold films ❓ I. personally feel this is the best film Arnold Schartenegger has been in overall, but my opinion could change. Just fantastic ladies and I think you would both agree this one is definately one of the rewatchable ones
Can we please appreciate what a total champ Bill Paxton was...playing that particular role this good.....no matter how he came across..what a great professional actor, an that only for a bit that was on screen for less than 10 mins..man I miss him
Absolutely love how easily Bill Paxton disappears in these weasel roles lol, Predator 2, Aliens and True Lies he just falls right into that role with ease. "if they took care of business, Id be out of business" 🤣
You missed the post credits scene tho??? Lol . One of the earlier ones . It's nothing major.. just Tom Arnold's character comes back briefly and says "being in the van sucks". Always made me chuckle
Jamie Lee's Dance sequence proves you don't have to be naked to be sexy. She actually did slip and fall but recovered so well that James Cameron left it in the movie.
Dan Aykroyd is married to Donna Dixon. They met on the film "Doctor Detroit". They also were in the film "Spies Like Us". They have been married since 1983. He has not, nor was he ever married to Tia Carrere.
@@rray848 - Mine too... Gil trying to suck in his gut to take cover behind the skinny post (and somehow succeeding) was hilarious. Also the following exchange with the director: "They call him the sand spider" "Why?" "Probably because it sounds scary"
Yup Bill Paxton and i find Nicolas Cage as well are those types where no matter what the movie is (or even how bad the movie is) they just make the movie enjoying to watch.
Always a lot of fun. The "You're Fired" scene is cute. There are a lot of impossible scenes in this one, but they are always fun. Another one you might check out, if you haven't, is "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. It is a fun premise and lots of action.
Yes, Donna Dixon. She was a regular cast member on the sitcom "Bosom Buddies" and the one Tom Hank's character always fawned for. She met Dan Aykroyd on the set of the movie "Doctor Detroit" (1983) and they later married.
Awesome reaction ladies! Yes. Tom Arnold is the best sidekick ever! Arnold absolutely has range. Another of hits that he doesn't get credit for is Kindergarten Cop. Tia Carreras hair big and full...what a great compliment coming from 2 ladies who's hair is always on point. ❤
As always, love watching your reactions and laughing along with you. This is one of my favorites of Arnold Schwarzenegger as well as Kindergarten Cop. His comedy is so great. Jamie Lee Curtis is always a huge draw for me, Tom Arnold has some of the best lines in this and Bill Paxton just shines. One of the few movies I bought and can watch over and over. The writing is fantastic just enough of the over the top action/comedy to make it work perfectly. If you ever get a chance to review Harvey (1958) with James Stewart and/or Demolition Man (1993) with Sylvester Stallone, Wesley Snipes and Sandra Bullock please do. One is funny and sweet while the other is action comedy. I think you'd enjoy both. If you haven't already done them. Great work as always and thanks for the smiles and chuckles. Stay safe, stay bright and take care. (Sorry so long).
Great movie. The beginning, where Arnold comes in with the scuba comes from the beginning of Goldfinger where Sean Connery does the same. By the way, the actress who plays Juno Skinner is in another movie with Sean Connery called Rising Sun (a police mystery set in Japan).
Love this movie! I saw it during the 90's. Arnold and Jamie had great on-screen chemistry. I heard, that they kept in touch over the years. I definitely prefer True Lies over any James Bond movie.
8:37 The good old days of being able to drive right by the White House. This film released just before Francisco Duran shot up the White House press room with an SKS and was tackled by tourists (and not he Secret Service) when he tried to reloaded. Although no one was hit this cause Pennsylvania Avenue to be “temporarily” shut down. That was in 1994 and it’s still closed! George W. Bush vowed that his first act as president would be to reopen Pennsylvania Ave. but he never got around to it in eight years!
There is a tie in between this movie and James Bond... the actor (Art Malik) that plays the bad guy was in the Timothy Dalton Bond movie The Living Daylights as the Afghan fighter Bond rescues from the prison.
It's good to see the old 7 mile bridge. I have fond memories of driving over it when I would drive down to the Keys from Miami. Fishing and camping were great. I also remember out of the way inexpensive bars / restaurants where you could get shrimp steamed in beer. Those places are all gone now but I have the memories.😊❤
Its One of my favorite movies. But tom Arnold was a terrible actor in this. One scene was done poorly, it wasnt arnold on the horse. The guy was way to handsome to pertend to be arniie. For me its a three. Other wise plot, and action made up for mistakes
This film is one of Arnold schwarzenegger's best and Jamie-Lee Curtis is absolutely gorgeous in this film a fantastic cast RIP Bill Paxton I hope you really enjoyed this one ladies ❤❤👍👍
This is the first reaction where I notice how much effort you two put into your hair. I can see large diameter curls & the extra shine. My late wife Natalie had straight-hair-itice & from today, I can tell you two do as well. She was not ashamed to buy the highest end hair care products. She was only a 1/4 gray when she passed last year @ age 54. Stroke.
