They should have made it with her as the grow up kid now a spy. But that would take some imagination and there is none of that on tv.

This will fill in for a show that might not last during the 2022-23 season, but in my opinion, it might not last, because when CBS aired "Rush Hour" in 2016, the show was cancelled after one season.

That would have been nice but because of that whole Bull lawsuit she had I don't think she'll work with Paramount at all.

She doesn't have any acting credits on IMDb since the "Bull" incident in 2017. I'm hoping that's because she's taking a break or focusing on being a mom and not because she got blacklisted or something.

Yea I always felt they should have done many movies based on that idea. I guess Cameron was too busy on other projects like Titanic and Avatar.

@FUTUREDCUWARRIORLIFE yes but the actors were playing the same characters in the Sarah Connor Chronicles and that was unbelievably good. Anyway, I know a lot of fans of the OG true lies are hating on it. So that coupled with the uphill task of gaining an audience is probably going to work against it in the long run. But honestly I think they would’ve had a serious shot if they had gone with this plot but instead of naming a true lies, named it family business. If the title wasn’t already taken. At least then people would separate it from the movie.

Too bad they canceled the sequel because didn't have enough time.

They're probably assuming anyone interested in the show already watched the movie.

What happens when you get what you hope for? And it's not a drinking fountain, it's a fire-hose? That's where the dramedy comes from. Wife's life goes from boring to roaring, husband, who's wife and family were safely isolated from dangerous career, now has to work with his wife in the field. How do the parents isolate their kids AND attend functions? The kids will learn they have the strangest parents in school and neighborhood. Bottom line, is the writing team brimming with ideas to satirize the genera? I hope someone is enforcing a G rating for this show. The smartest humor and drama come from working above the code.

I don't think her finding out and joining are what will make it fun to watch, I think its the shenanigans they'll get into together. It also sounds like those two things will happen pretty much during the pilot, so its not like a big plot twist we need to discover throughout the series.

They do this with every show and movie now. I always have to stop the "preview" as soon as I know if I want to watch it.

In the movie, they had an real jet. This will most likely be CGI.

i look at it like this it will never be as good as the film but if you expect it to be you will find yourself hating it. but Trailers for tv shows or movies are like this at times they can make it look like shit. i've seen movies where the trailer was utter garbage and the film was great. than i have seen trailers where it was fucking awesome and the film or tv show was a giant piece of shit.

I don't know, she was great as Eve in Lucifer and his limited run on Seal Team showed Howey could play serious. But given the tone, his comedic chops should work nicely.

The movie with Arnold was a remake of a French movie. Don't worry so much about originality. For the show to succeed, it will have to do its own thing--just like the movie did.

They don't do them properly and the woke crap doesn't work.

People told Arnold Schwarzenegger to change his last name too. It was too long. Nobody would be able to pronounce it. He'd never make it in Hollywood with a name like that. He didn't listen to them you'll recall.

But it still sounds silly to me and, just like Welcome to Flatch, this True Lies series completely misses the point of the movie. [Welcome to Flatch is the CW's attempt to copy Letterkenny... ]

@@carlhicksjr8401 Not to do with race in Arnold's case, but xenophobia. Nobody cared he was white. It was that he was Austrian, had a thick accent, and too many muscles. H was smart and had star power though, and was able to power through it. Howey's last name isn't that big of deal. I mean, for you it is obviously. Most people probably don't care though. As for the show, it looks like it gets the point of the movie just fine. However, it has to go beyond the movie in order to succeed. Jamie Lee Curtis' wife had to discover her husband was a spy in order for the story to progress. If she didn't, audiences would think her an imbecile and lose interest. It's the same with the tv series, except it's not going to waste half a season getting us to the point where the wife gets it. That would be stupid.
