I’m a single mom from a domestic violence relationship that spawned prior to being born again. As a Christian with two kids under 7 I find myself thinking I need to date and find a lifelong partner. As we wait for Jesus, not knowing when that golden promise will be fulfilled, I don’t want my kids to suffer in any way for me not pursuing a husband. For me not giving them a dad they deserve (their dad is not in their lives), or giving them the childhood experience and life long experience of a complete family. That thought breaks my heart. Not only that I don’t want to be alone and partner-less in this mortal life. Life is hard enough as it is. I miss the companionship, the trust, the laughs, the relationship of having a long term partner….With all that being said I am thankful for this sermon coming up and excited to finish watching it and seeing what the Lord is revealing to me. And I ask for prayer…that I follow the Lord my God with all my heart and trust in Him to provide our lives with everything He has planned for us. That I pursue His will not mine. That I surrender it all to the Father. Thank you in advance and may the Lord bless you and keep you! 🕊️

A great sermon - just stopped short of addressing the elephant in almost every large room when marriage is discussed - how is the abused spouse protected and how is the betrayed spouse protected (in context of addictions that aren't strictly manifesting as Adultery but destroy the relationship and lead to financial ruin) as the guilty spouse does not change and uses all these scriptures to demand forgiveness and keep their spouse trapped in their cycles of abuse and betrayal in a marriage not reflecting the love Christ has for the church?
