Spencer didnt mean athleate as in someone who is physically fit. He means it in terms of dedication. These people commit their lives to the games and make money off of it. (I know how sad that sounds). Its the same concept as when people say they want to be a footballer. They commit to making a living off of this growing industry and their dedication and skill should be held up and not knocked down...

fyi, youtube does sometimes make contracts with the biggest child friendly youtubers. It is mostly in America, but also these contracts have very strict rules about what the contractees have to do. For example, they have to have every video be advertiser friendly, and put a certain amount of videos a week/month, and also a certain number of ads in each vid.

Can we coin the term "mental athleticism". Because while you have physical athleticism and can play sports like football basketball etc. You also need mental athleticism to know the game. Some have more physical than mental and vice versa. Gaming I would say has way more mental than physical

The word *athlete* has been bastardiised. Imo, any game which is held in a competitive manner is a sport. Whether that be snooker, esports, tennis, rugby etc. It could be the freaking egg and spoon race for all I care. Just the same as the debate squads in America is seen as sport. The sport of debate. All that matters is the competitive nature of the event.

I would rather say that pro videogame players are like pro poker players. Nobody calls a pro poker player an athlete now do they. They do kind of the same thing.. know how to play the game.
