I'm liking this band more the more i hear them. Somewhere between drone and shoegaze. As for all the "boring" comments, i think it has a minimal beauty few bands can capture properly.
Into the night Until the morning light Ancient in your way Your faded out escape You never said a word That anyone has heard Your movie lips are blurred Your cantilevered heart Could stop the oncoming plot And my will stands still As the daunting art Tries to make its start
I love how I'm seeing this guys pick up all sorts of fans. I remember listening to them back in their debut and I felt like nobody had ever heard of the guys. I'm so glad they're getting up there in listener count now, they deserve it.
Obviously everyone won't get the same feeling if anything at all. However, for me it definitely invokes this sort of droning kind of feeling. If you've ever walked in the woods or on trail during the winter alone it's sort of a "bland" atmosphere. The video captures that feeling perfectly to me anyway.
Just found a vinyl copy of this online. Looking forward to disappearing deep into a heavy indica pot fog and a very loud pair of speakers when it gets here.
We need more of this music back in our lives music has gone down hill in the last 10 years i swear everybody wants to be gangster, lit, drug addict, etc........
@adddumbb Slo mo. I just listened to it again. You're right.... buried in the sonics is the same melody in the opening drones. I'd hate to be stuck in the car behind it.
Pretty sure he just uses a Blues Driver...may be wrong. Here's an excerpt from an interview I recently read: "Dan, you have a pretty distinctive guitar tone. Can you talk a little about your gear/setup? Dan: Yeah, the amps are a Fender Super Reverb and a Blues DeVille. I have an Echoplex for each amp and for overdrive I use the Blues Driver. That’s pretty much it.
Cont. I split it after the Blues Driver and it runs to each amp. The Echo on each amp is different, and as for tone the Super Reverb carries more of the low-end. MB: Do you change the settings for each song? Dan: Not really, unless I think the tone would benefit from it. I don’t like to get down and change a bunch of stuff all the time. If it’s sounding good I’ll just let it roll.
