11:51 ''Counter Hunter'' So this guy is an X-Hunter like from Megaman X2 that's really awesome. Never did read the backstory they came up for this version but now I am interested.
I think this figure is supposed to be what X would look like if he were a Maverick. Notice the Maverick symbol on his chest armor rather than a Maverick Hunter symbol.
Awesome. I have the standard one on BBTS and I can't wait to get it. I also heard that this Kai variant is available to backers, so anyone who backed (not me. I had no money at the time) seem to be able to get one as well.
I have both the Normal X and X-Kai Figure. These are the first 2 figures I ever bought. Loving them so far. I did have some issues with the X figure. His buster wasn't working. Then for X-Kai his buster wouldn't fit into the joint. The work around for X-Kai was taking X's bicep joint and putting it into his. Still love these figures though.
First of all fantastic review!!! Second I'm so pissed right now it would take a string of expletives to convey my displeasure. I was at the con and I have no idea how I missed this. I WILL get one although I shudder to think of the scalper price I'll have to pay.
There is a point to the removable plate on the base, it allows you to place pictures between the plates, in order to customize the display, what's strange is that that base is a staple of the company "sentinels" releases, a company many people have speculated had a hand in this production, due to some design cues being similar to sentinels re:edit iron man line, not a bad thing at all, just an observation, great review, can't wait to get my standard X : )
+Jean-Christophe Sakouhi The similarities are no coincidence. ;) Truforce is really just Bluefin branching off to make their own figures by partnering with Sentinel's designers and using their factories. Sentinel is technically still the one making the figures.
Being something of a sentinel fanboy myself, that just makes me want the figure even more, also this subsidizing of the factories/design wouldn't be the first time they've done that, whatever the case, I look forward to more from whoever is pulling the strings
AnthonysCustoms great review! Your can open the back thrusters with the 2 tabs on the side of back legs. a lil slight force at first after that it easy to open afterwards.
+DarkPaladinX77 regular ones were sold. Specially shipped just for the con. Im a backer but am not even mad. Would be foolish to not have some product out there for a big event. This brings in more attention for the figure and makes more money so they can get to work on Zero or something.
I thought the same thing about the back flaps on mine but it juat requires a small bit of force to open. It's the same way to close them. They won't break though
Hi Anthony, Awesome review! Thanks for putting that together. You should be able to pull the back thruster flaps out by applying some pressure. I usually don't have any trouble opening them. You should also be aware that you can pull the legs down (by the hips) to get even more range of motion :)
Thanks man! VERY glad I backed this; he looks freakin' AWESOME. I'm especially impressed with the knees, shoulders, and the range in the chest. Can't wait to get my hands on these figures. Also, since this is my first time here: Nice review! Your camera is like a damn magic lens or something, 'cause I might as well have been holding the figure in my hand - it was so clear! Very helpful for reviews and seeing just what you're getting in to with a toy.
The only thing sad about these really are the insane price tags. Apparently the Kai X is worth over $300+ on Amazon for a used one and $400+ for unopened which is nuts. Hey Anthony if you ever feel broke you can always auction of the figure for a nice get out of fee card. XD
i think that the stand piece comes off because then you can put on a floor design print out and then stick it in.. i guess not too sure but i think that is y
Good review on em'. My blue version's coming any day now I guess. I would just stick a toothpick in that gap on the leg to pry it open. (or a pin/needle) I wonder what TruForce is working on next? (Samus)?
+AnthonysCustoms they have the same display for monster hunter action figure so that u can put picture like logo or ground image (for monster hunter)...just slide the picture between them man ^_^
Flawless figure!!! just like the 1st one. This new japan DESIGNER COLLECTIBLES company is really doing a badass amazing job from ironman to megaman, marvel select fused with hot toys!!
Great review, im surprised you dont have a million subscribers at this point. lol but i really hope they'll make more MegamanX figures, theres so many characters they could have made like Axll, Spider, Dynamo.
Since theres X there has to be Zero atleast. Im with you, i want more and theres a ton of characters. We never even got the ride armor from D-Arts they showed a looong time ago.
I didn't really like the look of the regular X (too much going on in the design) but man this thing looks fantastic. Really like how the black and gold looks. It's too bad that the size doesn't line up with thr D-arts figures though.
+gevi1890 would've preferred if it was smaller, yes. Then it could've been put together with the D-arts Mega Man line which IMO was perfect for 1/12 scale. I don't think they're supposed to be 6 feet tall. Just look at Marvel vs Capcom 3. Zero is about as tall as Wolverine, definitely shorter than the rest of the Marvel/human cast. That makes the size of the D-arts figures perfect when compared to other 1/12 lines like Marvel Legends. That's my opinion at least.
The box says this figure was based on concept art of an an unused clone of MegaMan X that was meant to be the leader of the X-Hunters in X2...so...Capcom, how about we remake the MMX series with a more detailed story? I bet Maverick Hunter X would have sold more if you advertised it more.
