I saw how deeply entangled we are as a society with corporate interests. We're so terrified of tyranny from our government, we have sold our freedom to big business. Every facet of the Republican platform is designed to infringe the advancement of anyone who isn't rich or Christian. How any effort to improve our country (like the Equal Rights Amendment) is met with derision and accused of treason for daring to suggest our country isn't perfect. We're not the greatest country in the world. There shouldn't be such a thing.
