Ohio has been a "lean-R" state for most of the time since 1958.

But it has swung left often enough to be categorized as a swing state.

It voted for Bill Clinton twice and Obama twice. Both Clinton's win and the first Obama election were landslide elections. 2012 was not, though, and Obama won the state by 3 points.
