They aren't blind. I was talking to one of his supporter the other day, and she said that she dislikes Trump but because he "'stands for Christian values'" she will continue to support him. I said, "But none of his actions match up with those values. He cheated on his wife, short paid his employees, took money from his own charitable foundation, etc." ......And she just continued to say that because he talks about Christianity it's a net positive. Yes. They can ask. In this case he has enough money to also ask the appellate courts to chime in. They will probably laugh at him and deny the request but the process takes time. Regardless of how frivolous those requests may be. He is literally buying time (assuming he actually pays his lawyers).

This is the second delay since the June 24 conviction. He was supposed to be sentenced on 7-11-24 before the Republican convention . They delayed it until September 18, 24. No more delays .

It was the hush money that got him into the oval office in the first place, it seems appropriate that the sentencing in this case should keep him out of the white house. If it were me I would throw his a** in jail and be done with it. Trump says he will flee to Venezuela if he loses, that's his plan B if not elected. That may be why he is trying to delay sentencing.

If Merchan grants this motion, then Merchan should be removed. It is amazing to me how many times this judicial system allows Trump to continue to file these frivolous lawsuits. This judicial system needs a complete overhaul.

@bayousbambino427 Merchan is responsible for his rulings in his court, but Merchan has given Trump more leeway in his court room than any other defendant. I would challenge you to go into Merchan's courtroom and threaten his daughter and violate his contempt of court order 10 times minimum and see if you can go home? I didn't mention the Supreme Court ruling, which is ludicrous. I spoke only about Merchan, who is responsible for his rulings.

@@Drew-DTM Merchan couldn't, and still can't, give Trump _any_ possible way to a successful appeal, knowing full well how on team Trump the Supreme Court is. Merchan had to pick his battles and better to walk away from some if that makes winning the war more likely. You didn't mention the Supreme Court's ruling, and it's ludicrous you didn't. The Supreme Court's granting of sweeping immunity to Trump's official presidential acts, even as evidence in trials over unofficial acts, forced a reassessment of the case in Merchan's court. Hence, the delay. Keep up.

@@vasylkazmenko581 Biden's son has already been convicted, not sure if sentencing has occurred. Strangely enough, on gun laws. I'm surprised Hunter didn't start yelling about 2nd Amendment infringements. As for Joe, you're going to have to find a crime for which he can be indicted. Congress has been trying that for 4 years now, but they can't come up with anything. I'm not some pro-Biden guy, but I do believe that MAGA has their punishment in mind but can't find a crime to justify the punishment.
