I used to LOVE Lex Fridman's podcast but I'm not listening anymore for quite a while now because I just can't deal with the fact that he invited and re-invited certain people and gave them a platform rather than critically converse them and confront them their questionable beliefs. Never liked his ties to Joe Rogan either. It's a shame.
Here is what I wrote to Lex yesterday… Lex, that was one of the most disappointing interviews I have ever seen. I found you a while back, accidentally, when you were interviewing Sam Harris, who I admire for his intellectual rigor and passion for truth. That led to other interviews, e.g., Andrew Huberman, and others... Essentially, people you can actually learn something from and where there really is an exchange of ideas back and forth. So having DJT sit for a conversation with someone like yourself who should be able to distinguish between truth and bullshit (unlike the open mike he gets from FOX, NewsMax, OAN) really piqued my interest. Yet the whole conversation was him spewing the same litany of lies and bullshit he shovels on Trump state TV and “Truth” Social. And you sat there in your typically calm manner, but fed him softballs while never challenging the most obvious lies we hear every time he opens his mouth. There was zero to learn from this talk and it could have been a FOX News interview but with a smarter sounding host. As somewhat of a public intellectual with a large platform that can influence viewers, I think you have a responsibility to push back when any guest makes claims that are outside the world of objective reality, not to mention dangerous. I am so disappointed in how you handled this I can no longer watch your channel.

I really respect/can't imagine how difficult it must be to continue to publicize in a timely way, and do it well, the constantly changing political situation. I'm old enough to have met people like Walter Cronkite when I was a jouralism major, thanks to connections between my university and news outlets. I wasn't the only only one to pay attention to advice from the likes of Walter Cronkite, Tom Snyder Gail Christian, etc, that things were quickly becoming entertainment. We did well by changing to other communication-oriented ventures.
I actually discovered Pakman from his interview with Lex Fridman. He used to have interesting guests; I liked a lot of the science adjacent interviews. But I checked out long ago when he started inviting guests like Tulsi and Netanyahu etc, blech
Yeh…I was reading that many of the poll numbers still come from phone calls. Do you answer calls from people you don’t have in your phone contacts? I don’t. But, my 87 year old mom does. If the phone rings she answers and talks to whoever is on the line as if it is required. That polling technique alone skews who they are polling.

Eh he's like a MIT AI/programmer guy and I've enjoyed a lot of his prior interviews in the science/tech space but can't get into the shows with political figures. And he's also kind of an Elon Musk suck up which is a big turn off for me.
Lex thinks you can heal the world with love. He doesn’t seem to understand that there is nothing that love will do for a malignant narcissist such as Trump. He’s naïve, and these kinds of interviews without fact checking are dangerous to our democracy. I stopped listening to him last year because of his apologizing for Trump.
