Irrespective of which political aisle you represent/support, I do agree with the President that voter ID's are essential. We have it in India and it's effective!
It still sounds like a way to block the poor peoples vote. The reservations and smaller towns will have a very hard time trying to get them. Otherwise it is a fine idea, but unless they make it accessible, it is evidently going to become voter suppression.

In fact, we have higher voter percentage attendance than what you have in the USA. Saying that a voter's ID is a way to block poor people from voting is just an excuse to allow non-citizens to vote.
