You're right, corruption and exploitation have been part of our politics/politicians of both parties going back probably to WWII, or further. What we need to do is get money/lobbyists and their two parties out of the process, which is going to be hard. Trump said he was interested in the people, but his policies for the most part have shown otherwise. He has consistently appointed unqualified swamp things, privatized-to large corporate "insiders," and militarized, including now, our space program. More people need to take a look at our constitution, especially about the balance of powers and about our rights. Then, look at what's in front of us (not Obama, etc...), and see if the situation measures up.

Note: Elections in Canada are largely decided by a single province, because our GENOCIDAL ratbastard of a first Prime Minister (who has recently been removed from our currency!) was SO RACIST that he wanted to make sure that the only province that had any power was full of white English speakers. Ontario has the largest population, the largest say, and the majority of the vote. Votes basically don't even count if you don't live here. And this is really a bad thing because the issues that effect the praries, the mountains and the coasts are NEVER HANDLED PROPERLY. While Ontario has control over its own fate, most other provinces end up having control taken from them as any conflicts are just scooped up by the federal government and handled by them - regardless of how the provinces feel about it. The federal government has too much control over what happens in all our other provinces, and can ram through legislation that the provinces UTTERLY OPPOSE but cannot overturn because they don't have enough votes. He's about to ANNEX one of our provinces (BC) to force them to accept a pipeline they've been fighting against for years. He might be a pretty face, but he's 100% an asshole. Still, he's also right about Trump. Canadians aren't going to take that shit. We really aren't.
