@@joeramirez873 Those places did exist under the Obama administration and were used in fact as she said a detention center. What changed though is that when Trump took office and his administration radicalised the ICE. And the effects are as you see on the news are people being deported every other week in their houses, their places of work. In addition to that, the humanitarian issues that also arose aka isolations of children for months away from the parents without proper bedding, toilet, or food necessities. And most recently, the issue that women who are labeled as illegal immigrants and are currently being detained are apparently being forced sterilization. Another reason why this is always being related to trump is because the president himself actually exhibited racism during his campaign, his build a wall initiative, giving ICE emergency powers which all comes down to him being xenophobic. We add to the list as well him refusing to condemn white supremacy, his Trump rallies that he held during a pandemic of all things. I mean come on. I don't know what else you need to see, like you have to be blind for you to think that this man is a decent president much less a decent human being.

In concentration camps they're experimented on, tortured, no sanitary conditions, worked to death, raped, killed and not given medical care and I've seemed to remember them making lamp shapes out of human skin. none of this occurs at detention centers. These are detention centres are for people who come here illegally. Don't make comparisons you know nothing about .

They are border facilities, not hotels. What they are doing is not the issue, it's WHY they are doing it. To put them in cages is the best way to control them. I couldn't come up with a cheaper method if I tried. Sure, it's not comfortable but your country has never been to friendly to people that ain't part of your own legal system.

Remember how Americans love to joke about the cost of their education or medical bills? Guess what, if half of your activley voting population regularly opposes higher governmental spending and is ok if their own citizens suffer because it seems to benefit them, it hits the weakest he most. And illegals are without a doubt some of the least protected folks in the world. So instead of less "shocking" holding facility, officials build a cage because it costs less and get the job done. Morals are not universal. They don't beat the children, they don't let them starve, they do everything by the book. It's just that you have a "problem" with the original rules. Many people do, myself included. I am not playing the devils advocate here, I am telling you how it is. These border agencies are tasked with upholding the law of the land. Everything they do, is legal. It's not pretty but it usually works (not talking about Trumps measures, that guy was the worst in quite some time). Do you know what politics is often about? Compromises. The issue is that the US has forgotten about this concept, has a severely undereducated population in terms of politics and that one side has compeltley lost it while the other side is extremley average and doesn't get too much done either way - because of the voting systems for the house aso. - and all this means that if it's cheaper to put kids into cages than to find local solutions in south America or to maintain a heavily guarded border - then this is how it's going to play out. But this is not about race or ethnicity, it's about people who believe that they are right and don't want to think about their positions REGARDLESS of the colour of their skin. I could talk about this a lot more but that's basically it.
