Just one day after Judge Juan Merchan denied Donald Trump's third motion to remove Merchan from the case, Trump's lawyers try yet agin to put a stop to Trump's sentencing. This time, they file a request that Judge Merchan postpone Trump's September 18 sentencing date until - surprise - after the presidential election.

What specific failings, beyond it takes longer than the 44 minutes I expect from _Law and Order_ ? Trump has been convicted and sentencing is scheduled. Trump is under 3 other indictments. DOJ has charged 1400+ and convicted 1000+ Jan 6 rioters. Biden was investigated, and Hunter was convicted. Yes, DOJ could have chased after a bunch of MAGA senators and congress-people, but this would have appeared partisan; and after all, if they don't convict Trump, then you and I aren't settling for MTG.

But if he gets back to WH, case closed problem solved - for him. So this way or that way, sentencing doesn't matter in the slightest.
